Story
Hi there! I am one of 30 pups from a bad hoarding case. We had a rough start to life where we were used for breeding and forced to live in our filth. We were all severely neglected and had matted, filthy fur. Thankfully, we are in a much better place now with VOCAL! Despite all we've been through, every single one of us is super sweet and social with people and other dogs! Many of us have been placed in foster homes and have done really well, even being chill with cats and being relatively easy to potty train. However, it's important to note that, due to our less than ideal circumstances, we will likely need a bit more patience and work than a normal dog. If you give us a chance, I'm sure we'll be wonderful pets!

Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee: $125.00   Crouton is about 13 years old and weigh 17 pounds, he is a very sweet and loving fella, he is almost totally deaf, but he can hear and respond to very loud noises.  Crouton has a lot of health issues, so he will need a home that is willing to see him through any flareups and be okay with the cost.  He is partially housetrained, and may need to wear belly bands (male diapers), he tolerates them well, they need to be changed many times a day.  A person can choose to not use them if they want, but he will lift his leg and mark.  A supply of the belly bands and pads will be provided at the time of adoption, that will be enough to last a week or more.   He enjoys to go outside, so his ideal home would be to have a nice and safe fenced yard for him to enjoy.  He was diagnosed with an intestinal disease, but he is doing great now, and the flareup seems to have passed.  He also has had ear infections, so his doctor recommends a maintenance medicine to help this, a couple of drops every few days.  He does not care for that very much, but he will let let the drops be put in both ears.   He is also prone to skin infections, so it would be crucial to make sure he is dry if a person chooses to use belly bands.   He has cysts on his shoulder and just below his ear, his doctors feel confidant they are benign, and because of his age and health, and that there are so many, we are not having them removed.   He recently had a dental, poor guy lost 15 teeth, he is healing nicely from that, we also did have one growth removed, it was an odd skin growth that was hanging about 4 inches down from his chest.  We opted to removed that one, because of it's location and that it could possibly get caught on something and possibly hurt him.   Crouton does have a bit of separation anxiety, and will get into thing, like trashcans, and will try to chew shoes, cardboard...he is not choosy!   Crouton is waiting for his forever home in Gainesville, FL.   Adoption fee: $125.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences. You can help make a difference one dog at a time. If you would like to sponsor one of our babies, we accept online donations via PayPal or send a check to us at P.O. Box 2005, Chattanooga, TN 37409. We thank you for whatever you can help us with. Story
Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee - $300   Missy Zelda is available for adoption, she is 9 years old and weighs about 9 pounds.  She is in Gainesville Florida.   Missy Zelda was an owner surrender, her family was no longer able to take care of her.  She came to us in rough shape, but she is better now and ready for the right family to adopt her.  She is safe and very much loved in her foster home.   Missy Zelda does have some long term health issues:  she was diagnosed with pancreatitis (Pancreatitis in dogs is the inflammation of the pancreas, causing abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy, often triggered by high-fat foods or table scraps. It can be acute (sudden) or chronic, requiring prompt veterinary care for fluid therapy, pain management, and nutritional support to avoid severe dehydration or organ damage.) she is stable now, but we have no way of knowing if she will relapse and have a flareup.  A flareup could mean medicines, and possibly hospital care.   She also has bad knees (luxating patellas).  She can be seen occasionally favoring her back legs, but it does not seem to bother her right now.  And sadly, when she had her dental, she lost the 9 teeth she had, so she now has no teeth, but she is fine eating soft food.  Because of her age we are not looking at surgery for her knees.   Because she has no teeth, her tongue hangs out of her mouth, and because of that, she has a stained look on the right side of her nose.  And she licks her feet, so they are stained as well.  This is an ongoing issue with her, so it is likely that it will always be that way.   Also, as yucky as it sounds, she will eat her poop, it can be hard to catch her, but we try the best we can.  There is no 'cure' for this nasty habit; there are  a lot of home remedies, but the only thing that helps, is to catch her as soon as she potty's, it is unknown why some dogs do this, there is a lot of speculation, but no real answer.   And, she is working on her house manners, she WILL have accidents inside the home, she was not trained by her previous owners, so she has a lifetime of doing what she wants.   We have seen, that it will take several weeks to adjust to a new home,  if you feel Missy Zelda would be a good fit for your family, knowing her health issues and her lack of potty training, please fill out the online adoption application. Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.  To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.  NOTE: SCMR does not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences.
