Story
Meet Funnel Cake, Kettle Corn, Elephant Ear, Cotton Candy, and Lemon Shake Up!Step right up...the fair has arrived, and it's covered in fur. These adorable Dachshund and Bichon Frise mixes are 7 weeks old and are now accepting applications for pre-approval before they're ready to head home. Their mom is a full Dachshund, Dad is a full Bichon Frise, (so we've been told anyway) and somehow they managed to inherit the best of both worlds: fluffy, scruffy coats, short little legs, long bodies, and faces that are impossible to resist.Like all young puppies, they're playful, curious, and discovering the world one adventure at a time. They'll need families committed to all the joys and responsibilities of puppyhood, including potty training, socialization, basic obedience, and lots of love as they grow into wonderful companions. They are also teeny tiny and extra care will need to be given so as not to accidentally crush or harm one of them.Meet the midway crew:Funnel Cake is a fluffy male who is every bit as sweet as his name.Kettle Corn is a handsome male with plenty of puppy curiosity and charm.Elephant Ear is a scruffy little male with an adorable look that's sure to make people smile.Cotton Candy is the only female of the bunch, and she's as soft and sweet as you'd imagine.Lemon Shake Up is a playful male who is ready to add a little zest to someone's life.IMPORTANT NOTE: We are looking for FOSTER TO ADOPT homes since these guys are still so small. We want to wait until they are a little bigger before we spay and neuter them, therefore potential adopters need to live in Effingham County or the surrounding area. If you live more than an hour away from Effingham, IL please do not apply. Each puppy's adoption fee is $225, which includes spay/neuter at our veterinarian when age appropriate, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick prevention, microchipping with lifetime registration through the shelter. These puppies will be very popular and we are not on a first come first serve basis. We choose adopters based on the answers provided and choose the best match we feel is right for the individual puppy. We accept applications online, and if you are the approved and chosen adopter, only then will we set up a meet and greet appointment time to view them.If one of these fluffy little fair favorites has caught your eye, don't wait! Submit an application today and get ready to bring home your own blue-ribbon best friend.Apply on our website at EffinghamCountyHumaneSociety.org
