Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please understand that we get many applications for our available dogs. We review each application and do our absolute best in choosing a home that best suits each dog and his/her needs and personality. Hi!  I’m Rose but my foster Mom also calls me Rosie, Rosie Posie, Rosemarie and other silly things. My favorite things are soft beds, yummy food, treats and other dogs.  I like being out in the yard in the sun sniffing things and exploring. I’m usually very quiet but if my siblings start barking I will follow along. I don’t like storms and really loud noises…..it makes me nervous. I didn’t have a very good start in life and remembering it makes me sad so Foster Mom will explain.   Rose was a puppy mill Mom who was being disposed of because she was not “useful”anymore. Most likely because she developed a mammary tumor. Our vet removed it with great margins and she remains cancer free. She was terrified of people (who can blame her) and she did not understand stairs or outside or grass. Her comfort was found in dogs and that is still her comfort space. Rose has made great progress while in foster care but she still has fears of people. She will willingly take a treat from my hand and sleeps in bed with me but prefers to be as far away as possible.  She has learned to go upstairs but still will not go down. Part of the hesitation could be because her front legs are slightly shorter than her back legs and I believe she is afraid she will fall forward but she does need more training steps and leash work.  The ideal home for Rose is someone who understands and is patient with her fears and has the time and patience to continue to work with her.  Another dog in the household would be great but not a must. While a fence would be great it’s not a must as long as the forever home understands that she must be kept in a secure harness and collar on leash while outside. And of course prior experience with puppy mill dogs is a plus.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 29, 2025, 4:52 pm

Story
Meet Brownie — your new built-in best friend. Brownie is a joyful, affectionate little guy who’s ready to be someone’s whole world. If you’re looking for a dog who loves to snuggle as much as he loves to play, this sweet boy might be your perfect match. Brownie’s favorite place to be is curled up on a warm lap, soaking in all the love he can get. But the moment you toss a fluffy squeaky toy, he lights up — fetching it again and again with puppy enthusiasm. And yes… he gets the zoomies. The adorable “fly across the couch, bounce to a chair, and sprint back again” kind of zoomies that will make you laugh every single day. He’s young and eager to learn, and he’s already very close to mastering his house training and leash skills. He does well in his crate for short stretches, but mostly he just wants to be close to his person. If you work from home or love the idea of a constant little sidekick, Brownie will think he hit the jackpot. Brownie currently lives peacefully with three senior dogs and a senior cat. The cat is adept at avoiding him, but Brownie would not be recommended in a home with cats unless they were very dog saavy. He’d happily fit into a home with other calm pets — or soak up all the attention as your one and only. A quieter home with someone around most of the time (plus a fenced yard for playtime) would be his absolute dream.
