Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Guthrie’s is the sweetest little guy.  He’s extremely laid back except for mealtimes and when he’s on squirrel patrol.  We don’t know his history, only that when he  arrived at a local pound he was in pretty rough shape.  He was so badly matted that he had to be anesthetized to get shaved down.  It’s obvious that he did not have the best life before that, but that’s all changed for him now.   When he first arrived at his foster home, he marked his territory a lot.  There are three other dogs there and I suppose he just wanted to communicate that he belonged here too.  He’s over that now, but there’s a good chance that behavior could resurface for a bit if he goes to another home with other dogs.  (He does get along with other dogs just fine, other than that.)    Our little Guthrie also struggled with being in a cage while his foster mom was away.  He finally grew to tolerate it, but would be stressful for him and he would bark.  She decided to stop crating him and see how he did.  He did and is doing great!   Guthrie is a really good boy and really, really deserves a better life than he’s undoubtedly had in the past.  He’s smart.  When he understands what you want him to do, he will try his best to do it.  He’s very food-motivated, which is a huge plus for training!  And if you haven’t already noticed, he’s also very cute!   Want a cuddle buddy when you’re on the couch watching TV?  Guthrie’s your guy!  It’s his favorite pastime. He’s very good-natured and easy-going.  Except for maybe when it comes to the critter-type trespassers.  Guthrie would love a chance to be your boy!   He promises to protect your property from the threat of all squirrels, both foreign and domestic!   You can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:  adoption application  .   For those viewing on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal please click on More About Rose's Rescue, you may fill out adoption application from there. Story
Charlie is a 7-years young, 12-pound Yorkie Bichon (Yorkie-Chon). With a smile that makes bulldogs jealous and 'i have my therapist on speed dial' vibes, Charlie is not looking for an adventure. Adventure is for other dogs. Charlie is looking for a couch, a routine, and a human who understands that his needs are simple. But non-negotiable. How did a handsome guy like Charlie end up looking for a new home? Sadly, his person passed away. He was devestated in the way that only a loyal little guy like him could be, and he's been figuring out what life looks like now. He's getting there. He just needs the right landing spot. As you might have guessed, Charlie is not a 'go with the flow' kind of pup. He's particular. Knows what he wants. Definitely knows what he doesn't want (you can put that leash away because cardio is not on his agenda). Thrives on routine. Prefers to know where you are at all times. Not in a conjoined twin way, more in a "I would like you to remain visible or I will have concerns" way. If you've ever watched Sheldon Cooper manage an unexpected change of plans, congratulation, you now have a working understanding of Charlie's inner dialogue. As mentioned, walks are not his thing but he does great in the car. Shotgun, naturally. He coexists with respectful small dogs just fine and will occasionally, when the mood strikes, acknowledge them. Big dogs are on the 'no' list, they are clearly plotting his death (even if they don't know he exists). Cats don't seem to interest him one way or the other. Human food, on the other hand, interests him enormously and he believes kibble is his personal cross to bear when he should CLEARLY be eating human food.  When his foster family gets too rowdy, he serves up his signature "you have been judged and found guilty" look and relocates to his crate until they can behave more civilized. Like him. He sleeps in the bed. Because comfort is a priority for Charlie.  Housebreaking took a temporary hit, partly trauma, partly a strong opinion about cold weather, but seems to be back on track! We've been on a great winning streak even with the late february snow! Charlie needs someone who is home. A remote worker, a young retired senior who keeps a quiet house, someone whose schedule is a rhythm he can learn and count on. He doesn't need constant attention but he needs to know his person will be there. Once he trusts that you're staying, he will settle into your life like he was always supposed to be in it. Charlie requires professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. If you have a groomer referral, please include it with your application. If you have additional questions about Charlie, please email his current foster therapist (kidding) at 4leggedlayover@gmail.com Adoption Fee: $400, which includes neuter, DENTAL, microchip, vaccines, and current prevention. Story
I have had Krystoff since a puppy. He is loving and a great companion. I am having surgery in 4 days and after surgery I will be unable to care for him. He was just diagnosed with diabetes, next day I was told I will have surgery. He will sit, stay, and wait...on command. He will sit and wait for food....until you pray..."God is great God is good let us thank him for our food. Amen". He loves to be hugged and petted, and I hate to have to give him up, but it is necessary.
