Story
Meet Louis Louis is a sweet, shy seven-year-old Bichon Frise who is just beginning to discover how wonderful life can be. As a puppy-mill release, this gentle senior has not had the easiest start, but he has a soft heart and so much potential to blossom with the right family beside him. Louis is looking for a patient, loving home where he can slowly come out of his shell and learn that the world is a safe, kind place. He may be uncertain of new experiences and can walk away when food is placed down, but with quiet encouragement and gentle reassurance, he is learning to trust. A little cream cheese is a wonderful way to remind him that good things happen to dogs like him! Louis has no teeth after his dental work, so soft treats and food are best. He is still working on house training and does not like being left alone, so he would do best with a family who is home often and ideally has another friendly, confident dog to help him feel secure. At night, he loves being near his small female foster-dog pal and sleeps in his dog bed in his foster's bedroom, close to his people. He is welcome on the furniture, though he has not yet tried jumping up. Grooming and baths are tolerated, but they can feel frightening to him, so slow introductions, patience, and a calm approach will help him build confidence. Louis may be shy today, but he is ready for a beautiful new chapter. With a caring family to show him the ropes, this charming boy will learn to enjoy cozy naps, gentle adventures, and all the love he deserves. Could you and your family be the ones to help Louis discover just how wonderful life can be? Fill out an application for Louis today. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at Ruff Haus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support. Please visit our website www.preciouspawsrescue.ca to submit an adoption application.

If you submit an application to Loyal Rescue, please ALSO send us a quick email to  applications@loyalrescue.com     with the automatic confirmation/bounce-back email you received after submitting your application. This will help us ensure your application was successfully received and reviewed. We truly appreciate your patience while we work through this issue — and thank you for wanting to help a rescue dog    — Loyal Rescue   Pennie and her sister Popcorn (#4839) are bonded and must be adopted together. We spent time with them apart and saw how much happier and more confident they are side by side. At Loyal Rescue, their happiness and well-being guide every decision we make. For these two sisters, that means finding a forever home together. Name/Tag: Pennie 4850 Age: 6 years Sex/Altered: Female / Spayed Weight: 13 lbs Breed: Bichon Foster Home Location:  PORT HOPE, ON Adoption Fee: $700.00 each Temperament: She’s still learning to trust people, but feels right at home with other dogs Activity/Energy Level: Moderate  Up to date on Shots: Yes, plus dental done Housebroken: No, getting there Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs: Yes Ok with Cats: Unknown Ok with Kids: She hasn’t been around children in her foster home, so we don’t yet know how she’ll respond. New people and experiences can feel a little overwhelming for her, and she’s learning to trust at her own pace. A calm, gentle introduction would help her feel comfortable. Origin: Mass breeding facility  Requirements: A fenced yard, someone home part of the day to reinforce potty training, children over 12 years old who are dog savvy, mill dog experience an asset   And now, a few words from me: You have to see me run in the backyard! My foster mom laughs and says I look like an emu. I’m not sure what an emu is, but I do know I love being outside. There are so many things to smell, places to explore and reasons to wag my tail! I’m discovering lots of new things. Toys are a favourite, and I love trotting around with a ball or stuffie in my mouth. I’m also learning to trust my foster mom and sometimes let her pick me up. New experiences can feel a little scary at first, but I’m curious and I keep trying. My foster mom is proud that I use the yard for my potty breaks and a pee pad if I can’t quite hold it. Popcorn and I hope to find a family who will give us time to settle in and discover how wonderful life can be. We’ll be worth the wait!   And now, a few words from my foster mom: Pennie is a sweet little girl whose personality shines when she’s outside. She runs with the biggest smile, tail wagging, then checks to see where you’re going. Head towards the house and she’ll be right behind you. After spending her first years in a puppy mill, Pennie is still learning to feel comfortable with people. She likes being near us in the house, even though being picked up can make her unsure. There is one adorable exception: when she wants to join the other dogs on the couch, she lets me give her a lift! She gets along well with other dogs and would welcome more furry friends. Pennie needs a securely fenced yard where she can enjoy her favourite pastime: running freely. She’s still learning to walk on a leash and will do best with a patient family who lets her build confidence at her own pace. Having Popcorn by her side helps her feel secure. We gave the sisters time apart and saw how much better they do together, so their forever home must be one they share. If you have room in your home and heart for these two sisters, you’ll get the special joy of watching Pennie relax, grow in confidence and show you more of her lovely self. Questions? Origin: Mass breeding facility  Requirements: A fenced yard, someone home part of the day, children over 12 years old who are dog savvy, mill dog experience an asset  And now, a few words from me: My favourite place is the backyard! I love racing around with my sister Pennie and our foster brother, especially when one of us grabs a toy. I’m fast, and I love meeting other dogs who come to visit. When I’ve had my fill of running, you’ll find me in my second favourite spot: the end of the couch. I spent my first years in a puppy mill, so I’m still getting used to people and all the new things in my world. My foster mom says I’m smart and notices every little step I take, like following her up the stairs when it’s time to go inside. If I feel unsure, I can take a break in my crate or behind the table. As I settle in, I’m doing that less often. I use the yard for potty breaks and a pee pad if I can’t quite hold it. Pennie and I are looking for a family who will give us time to feel at home. We have so much joy to share!   And now, a few words from my foster mom: Popcorn is a bright, observant girl who likes to take everything in. She adores Pennie and loves sitting close to her. She also likes being near her people, although she’s still learning to trust touch, and feels most comfortable when she can choose how close to come. Being picked up is something she’s still getting used to. Outdoors, Popcorn’s playful side shines. She runs, explores and follows every interesting smell. If you’re relaxing on the deck, she’s happy to lie nearby in the sunshine. Inside, she enjoys a nap on the end of the couch and the challenge of getting a treat out of her Kong. An unexpected noise may startle her and prompt a bark, but she is growing more comfortable as she settles into foster care. Popcorn needs a securely fenced yard and a patient family who will let her build confidence at her own pace. She is still learning to walk on a leash. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would welcome more furry friends, with Pennie beside her. Give Popcorn and Pennie time, love and a home together, and you’ll have the wonderful experience of watching this clever little girl grow more confident each day. Questions? Story
Meet Mayo! Mayo is a sweet, affectionate 4-year-old Bichon Frise looking for a loving, patient forever home. At just 14 pounds, this little guy is happiest when he can be close to his people and be part of their everyday life. Fostered near London Mayo is a true little velcro dog. He loves following his person from room to room, snoozing beside you while you work, and settling in for cuddles, belly rubs, and cozy couch time. He especially enjoys sleeping beside his foster in bed and is happiest when he feels safe and connected to his people. Getting to Know Mayo Mayo came into rescue as a surrender after his family was no longer able to care for him. Since arriving in foster care, he has made wonderful progress. He initially had some marking and occasional accidents in the house, but after treatment for a urinary tract infection and being neutered, those issues have resolved. He now lets his foster know when he needs to go outside by going to the door. Mayo is gentle and affectionate, but he can be sensitive and needs people who understand that trust takes time. He does best when interactions are calm, respectful, and never forced. He should be allowed to approach and engage at his own pace rather than being restrained or pressured. He isn't quite big enough to jump onto the couch or bed himself, but he is comfortable being picked up with proper support under his belly. Once beside you, he is more than happy to settle in for some quality cuddle time! The Right Home for Mayo Mayo is looking for a home where someone is home most of the time and can gradually help him learn that being alone is safe. He can be vocal when left alone, so a home with no shared walls is important. His ideal family will: Be patient and willing to build his confidence gradually Be home most of the time and work slowly on alone-time training Use positive, force-free handling and training Understand that Mayo needs time to feel comfortable with new people and situations Preferably have no other animals Alternatively, have experience with careful introductions, separation, and ongoing management of the animals in the home Mayo isn't a fan of being in a crate. He has primarily used one for car rides, where he may whine initially but eventually settles down and sleeps. Other Animals & Outside Barking Mayo has very limited experience with other dogs, as his previous home did not have other animals. For this reason, a home without other pets would likely be the simplest fit. A family with other animals may be considered if they have the experience and commitment to introduce them very slowly and thoughtfully. Mayo also has a wonderfully strong opinion about neighborhood wildlife! ️ He will alert bark when cats, rabbits, squirrels, or other critters venture into his yard. His future home should be prepared for some enthusiastic commentary when wildlife passes by. On walks, however, Mayo is friendly with neighbors. He may be a little hesitant at first when someone wants to pet him, but he warms up with patience. A Sweet Little Companion Mayo has already shown how much progress he can make when given patience, consistency, and a safe environment. He is affectionate, cuddly, and eager to be with his people. He would love nothing more than a peaceful home where he can feel secure, stay close to his humans, and continue learning at his own pace. If you're looking for a little companion who wants to be your shadow, your couch buddy, and your bedtime snuggle partner, Mayo may be your guy. ❤️ Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page.  October 5, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
🐾✨ Meet Dali — A Sweet, Smart & Affectionate Poochon ✨🐾 📍 Location: Korea 🇰🇷 (able to fly once adopted ✈️) 🐶 Name: Dali 🎂 Age: 2 years old ♂️ Gender: Male ⚖️ Weight: 6 kg / 13 lb 🐕 Breed: Poochon 🎨 Color: Ivory ✂️ Neutered: Yes 🧡 Personality & Social Skills Dali is a sweet, affectionate, and very smart little boy who loves attention and being close to his person. 🥰 He loves being touched and cuddled and can be very affectionate once he feels comfortable. He can be a little stubborn at times, but he is clever and learns quickly. He may be shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, he warms up and becomes loving and affectionate. 👩 With women: May be shy at first but warms up quickly. 👨 With men: Needs a little more time to feel comfortable, but becomes friendly once he gets to know them. 🐶 With dogs: He has limited experience with other dogs and may bark when he sees them. Once they are closer, he generally does well without major issues. 🐱 With cats: Does well with cats. 🏠 Lifestyle & Training ✔ Medium energy ✔ Fully potty trained indoors & outdoors ✔ Crate training in progress ✔ Leash walking practice in progress and improving ✔ Travels well in the car 🚗 ✔ Apartment-friendly ✔ Yard not required ✔ Can live happily as the only dog ✔ No tendency to run away ⚠️ Separation Anxiety Dali does have separation anxiety and may bark when left alone. He may also bark at outside noises or doorbells. Because of this, his ideal family would be someone who can give him time, patience, and gradual training to help him feel safe and comfortable when alone. 🤍 He may occasionally chew on hard objects because his teeth can still feel itchy, so appropriate chew toys are recommended. 💔 Rescue Story Dali was originally raised by a couple. After they separated, however, Dali was left alone and neglected in the home for a long period of time. Despite spending so much time alone, Dali has remained a loving and affectionate little boy who simply wants to be close to his people. 🥹🤍 Now, he is ready for a fresh start and is looking for a family who will never leave him behind again. 🌈 Dali is hoping to find a patient and loving forever family where he can finally feel safe, loved, and truly at home. 🏡🤍
