Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Pinkie   This sweet girl is not a candidate for adoption at this time. She is around 8 years old and weighs in at a hefty 16 pounds. Pinkie came to us with mammary tumors, one of which had burst. After her first surgery, pathology revealed it was malignant. And the vet was not able to get clear margins. She has had more mammary tumors pop up and has had 2 more surgeries. We just don't know if the cancer will spread or not. Right now she is happy, relatively healthy (except for knowing her tumors were malignant) and is eating well. We are observing her to see if she starts showing signs of sickness. As long as she is otherwise well, we will take any more tumors off until/if they metastasize. So her future is grim. We regard her as terminal. We just don't know how long she has. If you would like to sponsor Pinkie and become one of her angels, we would be happy to post you as an angel for her. Donations for her will help to offset her surgical expenses. Until we know if she is going to make it or not, we don't feel it would be right to send her to a new home with all new people. If she's going to pass, we want her to be in the home with which she is familiar and with her rescue friends and foster mom who love her. This darling pair of Shih Tzus are anxious to give you lots of kisses and cuddles. They are 10 years old and are littermates...brother and sister. They've been together all their lives and we will not split them up. Charlie is 13 pounds and Fiona is 12 pounds so they are chunky monkeys. And they are not housetrained but are working on it. Charlie & Fiona enjoy going outside with their foster brothers and sisters and running around. They came from a terrible neglect situation and were covered in dried poop and mud. So they have some skin and yeast issues right now but are being treated. Man, were they happy when they got cleaned up and could move their toes and feel the ground! They are fully vetted and have even had dentals. Although their teeth are stained, they are free of tartar. They are friendly with other dogs and are not demanding and are very, very sweet and loving. Both like their Life's Abundance food softened with water and a few green beans. These two are just lovebugs who would make great couch potato companions! Please read the entire bio for this rescue, it will provide all the information that one needs to decide if they would like to apply to adopt from SCMR.Adoption fee:  $400.00   Introducing BB!  BB is a male Shih Tzu who is almost 4 yrs. old and weighs about 10 lbs.  He is quite the lovebug!  BB is sweet, friendly and gets along with the other small dogs in his foster home.  Once he gets comfortable, he loves snuggling and being held by his people.  BB is shy at first and will play a bit of hide-and-seek or roll over on his back and curl up until he is sure that he is in a safe place.   BB is a bit of an escape artist and will find a way out if there is one, so a secure fence and a home without too much 'coming and going' would be just right.  An ideal home for BB is one where someone is there with him most of the time.  Another small dog to be his buddy would be great so BB can follow their lead and get some help with his house training. This adorable little man is being fostered in Hickory, NC.   Due to our Seniors for Seniors program, no one over 70 will be considered for dogs under 7 years old.   Adoption fee:  $400.00 Out-of-state adoptions are possible; however, the approved adoptive home is responsible for making the necessary arrangements to pick up their new little one.   To be considered to adopt me, please fill out an APPLICATION.   NOTE: SCMR DOES NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10 years or homes with Electric Fences.
