Please welcome Poppy to the 4 PAWS family! Poppy is a fun-loving girl who is looking for a loving new beginning after the passing of her owner. Family members stepped in to care for her, but with several animals already in the home, they are unable to give Poppy the time, attention, and structure she needs. They made the difficult but loving decision to help her find a home better suited to her needs. Poppy is an 8.5 year old spayed, Bichon Frise weighing 16lbs. She loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, cats and kids, and will happily snuggle by your side on the couch or in bed. Poppy also loves treats and toys, and she enjoys running outside, sniffing, and exploring. Poppy will need time to acclimate to her new home and expectations. Her new family must understand that she is a lifetime commitment and be willing to provide training, consistency, and lots of love. We are not sure of her weight but she is probably around 14-16 pounds. She is very new in rescue. She was purchased from a puppy store. She was seen by the vet as a very young puppy. She received her first vaccines and was never seen again. She was surrendered due to lack of financial resources to care for her. Bonnie needs to learn to wear a harness and walk on lead. She appears to be house trained. So far she has been cordial to her foster family. Once we get to know her and understand her needs we will post more. She has not been groomed for some time. Her coat is so matted and in horrible shape. She desperately needs to be groomed. She dad allow for foster mom to cut off all the mats and give her a did allow for foster mom to cut off all the mats and give her an bath. she was seen by the vet and in good health. Bonnie Lee is coming along nicely. She loves interacting with her foster siblings. She wants to play and have fun. Another dog in the home who is social would be a benefit to her. Meet Pumpkin & Ginger – Bonded Shih Tzu Sisters Seeking Their Forever Home Pumpkin (black, 9 years old) and Ginger (pewter, 8 years old) are tiny but mighty senior Shih Tzu's, each weighing around 10 lbs. These inseparable sisters are looking for a loving home where they can stay together. We welcomed Pumpkin and Ginger a few months ago after their previous owners made the difficult decision to surrender them. Both girls have chronic skin and ear issues, which are common in Shih Tzu's. Thanks to the great care from our vet and foster family, they’re doing much better—but they’ll need ongoing support to stay comfortable and healthy. Their care routine includes: • Weekly medicated baths (can be done at home). Sometimes 2x a week if there is a flare-up • Regular use of topical medicated sprays/wipes • Occasional ear cleanings • Consistent grooming and haircuts • Special diet/supplements Ginger is fairly cooperative with her care, while Pumpkin has a bit more sass—but both are sweet and affectionate. They both had recent dental work, are spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and microchipped. They’re great eaters but require a special, chicken-free diet to help manage their skin from the inside out. Their meals include variations of fish-based kibble, peas, carrots, green beans, ground beef, Greek yogurt, omega oil, and probiotics—easy to prepare and not prescription-based. These ladies love (and sometimes demand) the royal treatment: lap time, naps, gentle brushing, sunbathing, short strolls, and lounging on soft beds. They’re mostly housebroken, crate-trained, travel well in the car, show no interest in the resident kitty, get along with other calm dogs, sleep well, and can be trusted alone at home. They will do best in a patient, quiet home with limited stairs, a small fenced yard (both prefer to potty off the leash), and a regular routine. Because of their size and special needs, small children and energetic dogs may not be the best fit in their new home. The cutest thing about them is that they both have an underbite and stick their tongues out. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two loving, low-key companions who thrive on affection and routine, Pumpkin and Ginger would love to meet you.
