Story
Meet Bryer !! This dapper little gentleman came to us in rough shape. He’s made a huge transformation and is ready for his new life. He arrived here and was terribly matted. His fur had urine and feces matted into it. It seems like he may have been left crated standing for long periods of times in his own waste. Thanks to Fluff N Buff who volunteered to groom him for us. He looks amazing and feels so much better now! Bryer is an approx. 5 year old male. He weighs 13.5 pounds and is full grown. We are unsure of his exact breed. Probably a few small breeds like shihtzu, Maltese, or bichon mixed in. He will be neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines as part of his adoption. He is thankfully heartworm negative and on monthly preventions. Bryer is really a great little dog. His entire personality has changed since he arrived. He was referred to as “Mr. Grumpy” at the shelter and now he is the happiest little guy. He was likely in pain without many positive human experiences. Now he is all about exploring the good life. He is a happy sweet boy that loves life. Given what his past must have been like he is trying his best with training. He is good on car rides. He is leash trained but can be a bit wild and hyper to go explore everything. With the crate he is quiet, he goes in well, eats and sleeps in his crate with no problem. The one major issue he had was that he would go potty in his crate as if he is supposed to. He was likely made to stay crated all the time without an opportunity to go out. Due to this he didn’t seem to understand the concept of going outside and keeping his crate clean. He has gotten so much better with it already but is not perfect. Anyone wanting to adopt this guy will have to be patient and understanding with him as he has to relearn his new expectations. Bryer has not been fostered with kids has been very good with all the kids hes met. He loves playing so as long as kids don’t treat him like a toy he will do well. He is great with other dogs of all sizes and loves to play. He can be a humper of other dogs. His upcoming neuter will likely resolve that but until then your dogs will need to be tolerant of that behavior. He had an overnight visit in a home with a cat and he did very well. He currently has a medium energy level. He likes to be exploring the yard or doing zoomies around it. He does really like being outside. He also loves to play with other dogs. He will likely calm some as he adjusts to the freedom of not being stuck in the crate. Right now he is seizing the opportunity to frolic at every chance he gets LOL. Bryer has not had any trouble sharing food, treats or toys with humans. He doesn’t like other dogs approaching him while he is eating but he is happy to eat in his crate to have some privacy. This guy is looking for someone to spoil him and give him the good life he has been denied so far. If you are willing to work with his potty training he is going to make an excellent companion for you in return. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message VillageDogResource@gmail.com or for more pics and faster response visit our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application. ‼️

Story
For inquiries email martine@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $700 Location: Outer Banks, NC Bonnie Lee is a 3.5 year old unaltered female Shih Tzu - bichon mix. We are not sure of her weight but she is probably around 14-16 pounds. She is very new in rescue. She was purchased from a puppy store. She was seen by the vet as a very young puppy. She received her first vaccines and was never seen again. She was surrendered due to lack of financial resources to care for her. Bonnie needs to learn to wear a harness and walk on lead. She appears to be house trained. So far she has been cordial to her foster family. Once we get to know her and understand her needs we will post more. She has not been groomed for some time. Her coat is so matted and in horrible shape. She desperately needs to be groomed. She needs to see the vet asap for vaccine updates and an exam. We will get her up to speed and post more photos soon. Story
Please welcome Poppy to the 4 PAWS family! Poppy is a fun-loving girl who is looking for a loving new beginning after the passing of her owner. Family members stepped in to care for her, but with several animals already in the home, they are unable to give Poppy the time, attention, and structure she needs. They made the difficult but loving decision to help her find a home better suited to her needs. Poppy is an 8.5 year old spayed, Bichon Frise weighing 16lbs. She loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, cats and kids, and will happily snuggle by your side on the couch or in bed. Poppy also loves treats and toys, and she enjoys running outside, sniffing, and exploring. Poppy will need time to acclimate to her new home and expectations. Her new family must understand that she is a lifetime commitment and be willing to provide training, consistency, and lots of love. If you are interested in adoption, DO NOT CALL; please complete an application: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/21800/generic. We verify the care of past/current pets. Our goal is to find the very best home for all our dogs and cats, and therefore we reserve the right to approve or deny an application based on what we determine is in the pet’s best interest. #lovedogsforever #rescuedisthebestbreed #adoptdontshop #bichon #dogsareacommitment

Story
He is kind and very playful. He loves toys and is friendly and very independent. He likes to cuddle under the sheets. Obi has a one-year-old Yorkiechon brother who have never been apart since the day they were born. They are deeply bonded — play together, protect one another, and truly find comfort in each other’s presence. Because of this bond, separating them would break their hearts. They are incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loving dogs with gentle souls and lots of energy. Watching them interact, you can see how much they rely on each other — it’s not just companionship, it’s family. Both boys completed two weeks of OFF LEASH K9 training, and they did very well. Like any training, it must be consistently reinforced at home to be successful long-term. They will thrive with an adopter who understands that training is an ongoing commitment and is happy to continue working with them—particularly if they choose to keep them together.

Story
Bippity and Boppity were surrendered together to a local shelter. HART scooped them right up. These two are super nice. They love belly rubs and are open to being touched and held. They LOVE attention! Boppity (the female) is a little more timid than the boy and patiently waits while he gets attention first. She is very pretty and feminine, smaller that him. At 2 years old, they are fully grown. Their foster say she gave them a nice blanket and 2 squeaky toys and they really seem to appreciate everything that they have. They can be adopted separately but Boppity may appreciate another dog in the home as she is always checking in with Bippity. Questions About this Animal?
