Story
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.
Burrito is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with my current owner in Sacramento. Adoption fee applies.
Meet Burrito, an 8-year-old grand and magnificent Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon. With his impressive size, striking silver tabby markings, and classic Maine Coon elegance, he is a majestic presence in any home. This big, gorgeous gentleman weighs 35 lbs and carries himself with quiet dignity and charm.
Burrito has a wonderfully mellow, gentle temperament. He can be shy with new people at first (often hiding when the doorbell rings), but he warms up at his own pace and becomes a loving companion. He stays in the room with visitors, watches with interest, makes excellent eye contact, and responds happily when talked to. Our cat sitter is a favorite because she chats with him and he engages with purrs.
He’s a fantastic helpful desktop assistant — you’ll often find him perched quietly nearby on a desk or table, keeping you company while you work without demanding constant attention.
What Burrito loves:
Generous belly rubs and head scratches
Daily brushing (he gets mats otherwise; vet has shaved him before)
Gentle play with wand toys
Morning and evening Greenies treats
Long, peaceful daytime naps
Burrito is strictly indoor-only and has never been outdoors. Despite his size, he jumps onto the couch with ease. He uses an open-top litter box with World’s Best Cat Litter and prefers it scooped daily. He may have an occasional accident if it’s not cleaned daily.
Burrito currently lives with Luna, a beautiful independent Tuxedo female Maine Coon. Although they could be adopted together, they are not a bonded pair — both are very self-sufficient, so separating them would not be a problem. He would thrive as an only cat or with another calm feline friend.
He is never aggressive — just a calm, easy-going boy who enjoys his independence.
Best home for this magnificent boy:
Quiet, patient adults or older cat-experienced children (no toddlers or young kids — he’s shy and needs to feel safe)
No dogs
Someone willing to brush him daily and maintain a clean litter box
A home where he can continue as your grand, helpful desktop companion
His routine is simple: ½ can of wet food daily with dry kibble always available. The vet says he’s only slightly overweight.
If you’re seeking a truly special cat — grand in looks, gentle in spirit, and quietly devoted once he knows you — Burrito may be perfect for you. He starts reserved but rewards patience with sweet affection and big Maine Coon purrs.
We’re committed to finding him the best forever home. Serious inquiries only — happy to answer questions about our Owner Placement Program. We can also discuss adopting Luna with him if you have room for two magnificent Maine Coons!
Burrito is ready to become your magnificent desk mate and beloved companion. Could that be you?
Burrito is: Neutered/Spayed, Vaccinated, FELV Tested, Microchipped, Wet Food, Dry Food, Litter Box Perfect
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats (like me) with qualified adopters who will cherish me and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you're my perfect adopter please explain why in the comments section of my Adoption Application, and contact Pamela at cheemers@gmail.com or (707) 498-6578. If you are unable to reach Pamela please email info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!
