Story
Meet Bronco! This sweet boy is ready for his forever home! Bronco is a sweet hound mix with an estimated birthhday of 1/09/2023. Bronco stands very tall, he is all legs! His gangly paws flop all over the place when he gets playful and happy. He may be in the large dog weight range, being roughly 65lbs, but he is slender and lean. He is very, very smart, he responds to his name, know "sit" "lay", and "paw". He is such a goofy boy, he can be a little shy of new people but give him a tasty snack and he opens up to be as silly as can be. He loves learning new things, and food is definitely the key to his heart. He is starting to take treats very gently, and although he gives it his best shot, if you toss a treat ot him it's more likely to land on his forehead than in his mouth.  Victor is excellent with other dogs, and kids, but has not recently been tested with cats. If you already have another dog, a meet and greet is required, but Bronco would be happy to have a four-legged brother or sister.  Victor is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $175.  Interested in this precious pup? Call 615-446-7387 to set up an appointment! ##1670072##

Story
My name is Winnie and I am a loving 7 year old, 50 pound girl that is a beautiful Coonhound breed called a Treeing Walker.   I was found as a stray in the middle of a rural highway and I am such a soft and gentle girl that loves to lay around and sleep and just be an easy couch potato friend.  I am housebroken, love a good tummy rub, pretty nice to all other dogs that I meet and I would be a great companion to a senior, retired person or couple who are looking for an easy dog to love.  I am healthy and spayed and microchipped and I am told that I am pretty, too.  Would you like to have a sweet companion for the next 7-8 years.  I will be happy to make your life so much more special if you invite me home.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is ready to help you adopt me if you write to them at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 30, 2024, 10:07 am

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! ADOPTION FEE $400

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? ADOPTION FEE: $400
