Story
My name is Winnie and I am a loving 7 year old, 50 pound girl that is a beautiful Coonhound breed called a Treeing Walker.   I was found as a stray in the middle of a rural highway and I am such a soft and gentle girl that loves to lay around and sleep and just be an easy couch potato friend.  I am housebroken, love a good tummy rub, pretty nice to all other dogs that I meet and I would be a great companion to a senior, retired person or couple who are looking for an easy dog to love.  I am healthy and spayed and microchipped and I am told that I am pretty, too.  Would you like to have a sweet companion for the next 7-8 years.  I will be happy to make your life so much more special if you invite me home.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is ready to help you adopt me if you write to them at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 29, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! ADOPTION FEE $400

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? ADOPTION FEE: $400

Story
Our sweet Abby is just a joy to be around. She came from a high kill shelter in South Carolina. We actually saw her on Facebook when they were begging for someone to get her out of there. She was 24 hours away from being euthanized. There are so very many stray hound dogs and the shelters run out of room so they only stay for so long. It's very sad. Abby is the sweetest, most loving girl that you will ever meet. She just loves everybody! She is a full blooded Walker hound, approximately 2 years young. She came with heart worms but we treated her and now she is heart worm free. She is also crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready for her forever home! could that be you? Story
Goofy Gus was hanging out in a shelter just north of Nashville, where his chances were looking a bit slim. He is now fully embracing cozy house life at his foster's house in Nashville, where he gets to sing along with all the other musicians in town. He is a big Cadillac of a coonhound, who should weigh in at 70 lbs once he has gained the weight he needs. A large, dopey, goofy boy, he has the BEST puppy dog sad eyes and face, but he quickly waggles his whole body and gives his humans grunts, smiles, and kisses. He is literally the cuddliest coonhound we have ever been around.... He walks GREAT on a leash and would love to explore both city and woods on leash with you. Gus also loves to lay around in the sun and shade, but would love an active family who has a large 6-8 ft fenced in yard.

Story
Hi! I`m Daisy Mae and I am ready to play! I have energy for miles and I love to sing! I like to follow my nose to adventure, some people call it trouble, but they aren`t any fun. My perfect home would have some toys, and lots of playtime, and maybe go on hikes with me, and have tons of love and cuddles! I'm not a fan of cats, but I love playing with my other dog friends. I'm gentle with humans, but need help learning leash manners. I haven't spent much time in the house, but could easily learn!

I'm just a hound dog looking for ❤️... Say HELLO to Sara who is looking for a family to call her own!! This love bug is around 2 yrs old, spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm meds, gets along great with other dogs, and we think she would be just fine with children as long as they are respectful with her!! She is Doggie Door trained and will go in a crate. Even at 2, she does have ALOT of puppy in her and will need to be reminded of her house manners. Other than that, Sara would make a AWESOME pet for the right family. Could that be you? Send us a message for an application...

Story
Silly Lil Stella is a young, perfect sized, medium girl that has the best smile and the most fun personality.  This white nugget is believed to be a Beagle/Greyhound mix who is only 18 months old and 34 pounds.  Stella is super cuddly and loving and looks much smaller than her weight suggests.  She is light and wispy and easy to have on your lap and does so well with other companion dogs and cats in the home.  She is housebroken and crate trained and was found as a stray that needed a helping hand.  She would be a great companion for a single person or young couple or even empty nesters.  She will need physical exercise outlets daily and would thrive learning new commands and dog manners.  If you are interested in this girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  April 29, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
My name is Rex and I am sure that you stopped to check me out because of my handsomeness and wonderful Beagle breed. I am about 5 years old, 31 pounds and I have been a hunting dog for an older man that doesn’t want his dogs anymore.   There are 3 of Us that need a loving home and not an outside kennel.  I am shy at first because honestly, I haven’t had much love or kind pats On the head during my life. I have sort of been expected to perform when the man wants to go hunting and that hasn’t been that Often.  The rescue got me updated on Shots and heartworm tested and microchipped and dewormed and neutered at their own expense.   After I have lived in a home with young busy children, I have decided that I really want to just be in a quieter environment with some mature teens and adults or just some calm adults!  I adore the dad in the home for sure and my mom is fine but I really have decided that I want to not live with the young children under the age of 10 years.  I get a headache.  So hopefully if you are a Beagle loving person and know all the great qualities of my breed, we can come up with a plan for you to adopt me! I am good with other dogs and people if they give me a little time.  The rescue people are insisting that I have a home with a secured and physical fenced in the backyard.  That is pretty reasonable for my Beagle heritage.  Here is the Email that you can write to and ask for an application and any further questions.  ccrtennessee@gmail.com ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
This small, 20 lb Beagle girl is called Ruth Anne and she's everything you want in a dog.  At just 2.5 years, this girl and her sister were found as a stray by a good Samaritan who took them both home.  We love her rich coloring and sweet demeanor.  She gets along great with other dogs, is playful but still low-key and honestly is not a barker.  Ruth Anne has so much to offer any type of family.  She fits in well anywhere and doesn't seem to have any issues to overcome.  If you are interested please email directly to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 29, 2024, 9:05 pm
