Story
Bo Duke is a 2-year-old bundle of love weighing in at 63 pounds. This affectionate boy is full of personality and charm. He’s already mastered the "sit" command, and with his treat-motivated nature, learning new things is a breeze for him. While he’s still getting the hang of walking on a leash, with a little guidance, he’s eager to learn and enjoy his walks with you. Bo Duke thrives on companionship and would do best as the only dog in the household, where he can soak up all the attention and love. His favorite pastimes include playing with tennis balls and snuggling up with soft toys. After a fun-filled day, Bo Duke loves nothing more than winding down by your side, content to just relax and enjoy your company. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’ll be your best buddy and love you unconditionally, Bo Duke is ready to steal your heart!Breed is based on physical features. All shelter animals are considered to be a mixture of breeds.

Story
We found this sweet boy roaming our neighborhood and took him in. Hes very well behaved and is great with kids of all ages! Hes great with other dogs too, just a little hyper. He loves to cuddle and snuggle on the couch annd he is kennel trained ant night. We’re still working on potty training but he’s doing great! Our current dog is not liking him at all and is causing stress on her. All the rescues and shelters are full and I would really like to find him a home! Adoption fee is negotiable…I would rather find him a good home than take someone’s money.

Story
Found in woods at my mother’s home Feb. 2024, at about 4 months old (from what Vet said.) Have tried to find a home for him and have been caring for him since found. I do not live in this state and have been here on family medical. The medical issues have come to an end and I need to return out of state, and can not take him with me…….My mother 97 and sister are walker dependent and unable to care for this guy. I feel he would do best on a farm because he loves to run and is allowed to run unleashed outside since my mom’s home is in the woods. He is inside when ever he wants and restricted to an area not a pen. He has been boarded when needed. He sometimes thinks he’s a lap dog, loves homemade dog “cookies”, baked potatoes, ice cubes, chew bones and playing kick the plastic coffee can. (hard plastic/rubber tough toys are best) sticks and piles of leaves!

Story
Lulu and her brother, O.J. (Odin) were abandoned in the country but fortunately, they were found by a nice human. They are black mouth cur mixes. DOB 3/4/2024. They are good with dogs, cats and children. They are crate trained and love to play in the water. Lulu's brother has found a home, so Lulu would love to go home with you! Lulu's cold weather foster says, "she is perfect"! She is a cuddler and loves to show you her paws and has the cutest underbite! She is playful and submissive with other dogs and will warn snap when she is overstimulated. She does love to chew so she will need lots of chew bones and toys and a watchful eye on things left unattended. She goes into her kennel easily with treats/food. She would have the best success with being adopted into a home with an adult house broken dog to teach her. Potential adopters can complete their application at www.havenoftheozarks.org/adopt and come out to meet our pets any day between 9 AM - 4 PM. Email havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com with questions. All of our pets are fixed, microchipped and current on vaccinations before going home.

Story
Cantaloupe's DOB is 07/19/2021 and she's a red Boxer. Cantaloupe came into the Haven of the Ozarks with another dog by the name of Melon they are two very shy, reserved pups that were found roaming a neighborhood. We later found out that their owner had passed away and that's why they were out roaming, probably in search of food and water. But lucky for them they picked the perfect neighborhood to seek out their basic needs because once everyone noticed them, they all came together and began putting out food, water and trying to gain their trust. This process took about two months because these two caught on to what people were trying to do and would not go into traps, they had set for them so they could get them to us so we could help these sweet pups try and understand that not all people are bad and that we just wanted to help. We at the Haven of the Ozarks believe that with a lot of time, basic training and patience that these two sweeties can grow to trust someone and be able to eventually live the happy healthy life's they deserve. We think that it would need to be someone that is willing to come out for a few days and spend time with them in their kennel and shower them with treats and love to gain trust before they went home just to make the transition from our shelter to a home easier on them. We have brought both into the office to hang out with us before, and Cantaloupe is definitely the one who has a harder time opening up. Her estimated DOB is 7/19/21. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week.
