Story
Harley is a sweet, affectionate 3-year-old mixed breed with a happy personality who is deeply loved. We adopted her when she was very young and, at the time, were unaware that she would develop aggressive behavior toward other dogs—something that may not have been known then. Unfortunately, she has since shown unpredictable aggression toward one of our other dogs, and despite our efforts, we have been unable to identify the triggers. For everyone’s safety, we believe Harley would thrive best in a pet-free home where she can receive focused attention. We also feel it is best that her future home not include children, as we are unsure how she may react.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: approx. 6 years old (as of 1/21/26) Weight: approx. 90 pounds (as of 1/21/26) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Meet the charming Chester! We are pretty sure he is a teddy bear that has been magically brought to life, but they’re telling us that he is a six-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix from down south. Are you looking for loyalty and companionship without the puppy chaos? Chester might be your perfect match. He has great social skills, is fully house trained and enjoys long naps on the couch. He walks well on the leash, which is great because he does need to lose a bit of weight. Chester just really wants a family more than anything, and we hope we can make that happen for him! Adopting a dog of Chester’s age is not only incredibly compassionate, but a deeply rewarding experience for everyone! Will you welcome this gentle, loving soul into your home? Chester's story: We’ve learned that Chester was abandoned by his owner to a new family and promised to return, but never did. The family kept him well fed, but tied up outside and neglected. He’s now thriving in foster care and is an absolute sweetheart!   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 15, 2026, 8:39 pm
