Story
Ziggy is a good dog for a single pet home. The bad: Ziggy has food aggression issues if food or treats are involved other animals can't be near by. He will NOT be given to a home with small children, he may attempt to take good from their hand. (Teens are fine. ) We worked with a behaviorist/ trainer and have determined that he NEEDS to be the only pet in the house. The good: Ziggy loves attention. He's playful and energetic. He's housebroken and will talk to you if he needs to go out. He is crate trained, will follow basic commands. He loves to play fetch and keep away. Walking, can be an issue on busy streets, but on quiet stretches he is fine. He will come when called, lay down, sit, stay and other basics. Ziggy was placed in our home by a Foster based rescue that didn't know of his issues with other dogs and food issues. If not for our other dog and small children he'd be here to stay. Unfortunately, he needs a new home.

Story
Astro!! Just look at that handsome face! This boy also has a slight underbite that makes him look like he is always smiling! Astro is such a playful pup and has the perfect energy level. He is very generous with his toys and loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. He takes his treats so gently and just wants to love everyone. He loves to go for car rides. Want to go for a walk? So does Astro! Bring that leash out, and he will put on quite the show! This good looking fella is house and crate-trained but has not been around kids or kitties. This sweet guy has been waiting for his forever home for a while, but it certainly hasn’t affected his capacity to love humans. He is an absolute love bug.He will make an amazing addition to someone’s family—if you think it’s yours, please fill out an application!Name: Little Bird ( Astro)Breed: Black Mouth Cur Mix/?ShepherdSex: MaleAge: 13 months as of 11/1Weight: 51lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7 since he has not been around smaller children yet. This dog is       NOT       offered for adoption by Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA). This dog is solely a courtesy posting for another rescuer.   Adoption Donation: $         599        Located:        RI       (Transportation costs included, please ask for more details )  Age:   8 months as of 12/17  Weight:  31 lbs         Farrah and her five siblings were all found starving on the front porch of a dilapidated home in rural Mississippi. Fortunately, Wags took the entire family into foster care where they have thrived, running and playing, snuggling   in one big puppy pile to sleep.    These are darling puppies who will make wonderful family dogs. Like any puppy Farrah and her siblings needs some training to grow up to be a very good girl we know she can be.   Adoption Donation   $ 499     Located:   RI  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details )    Age: approx. 2 years old Weight 62 lbs.   Coco is looking for a forever home for the holidays! She needs a home that will be patient with her because she is slow to warm up to people, especially men. She is good with dogs and cats and loves to play fetch.    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  kaysamlyss@gmail.com    Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc.
