Story
Meet Hermione, a charming Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of joy. This adult dog is a perfect blend of bravery and playfulness, always ready for a game or a cuddle session. Hermione's energy is infectious, bringing brightness to the shelter with her goofy antics and sweet demeanor. She has quickly become a favorite among the staff due to her friendly nature and eagerness to please. Adopting Hermione means welcoming a loyal companion into your home, one who promises endless affection and adventure. Let her brighten your life with her vibrant personality! Dogs are usually tested with other dogs their size, and we encourage meet-and-greets with your dog before adoption. Cat tests are available if requested, but they only check for clear aggression. Always be careful when introducing dogs to cats. Advice about dogs living with children is based on behavior like energy level and how the dog handles touch. Young children should never be left alone with dogs, and we cannot guarantee how any dog will behave with kids or other pets. Behavior seen in the shelter is just a snapshot and may change in a home. Dogs come from many backgrounds and may need training, time, and patience. Dogs should not be fed together unless you know they do not guard food. We also suggest learning about a dog's breed or mix to be sure it fits your family. Moving to a new home can be stressful for dogs. Use the Rule of 3 to help them adjust: First 3 days: Dogs may feel scared, tired, overexcited, or not want to eat. First 3 weeks: Dogs start learning routines and may show new behaviors. Keep things calm and avoid busy places. First 3 months: Dogs usually feel settled and more comfortable. Story
Layla is 5 years old. A smart, sweet, and slightly tomboyish dog. I met her when she stopped my car one day as a stray. She was scared and distant at first, but over time she became very affectionate and loves to cuddle. She enjoys playing tug-of-war and taking naps. She doesn't like water much, so bath time isn't her favorite. I need to rehome her because my parents recently moved in with me, and they are allergic to dogs and cats. Layla has been living in the backyard, but she is lonely. I want to find her a home where she'll have company and care. If you think you could give Layla a good home, please reach out.
