Story
Van is a loving and affectionate pup, ready for a forever family. He was born into foster care with his siblings. Their mom, Hazel, was rescued while heavily pregnant and a volunteer brought her inside just in time to have her babies. They are healthy and happy and momma is doing great too. These puppies are friendly and well-socialized, as they've lived inside with people their whole lives. They are good with other dogs. We don't know about cats yet, but we predict they would do just fine if they grow up with a cat. As of April they are 9 weeks old. We would love to talk to you more about them on the phone. Please send us an application and we'll give you a call! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to a town near you. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note: adoption fee is in US dollars.) There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. Thank you! Adoption Application: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication ********If dog/pup is showing as available it is available. Please do not email asking if it is. Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Benny! He has been sponsored so has a reduced adoption fee. All vet care is done and current. This beautiful baby is looking for his furever home! He is 80 lbs. born 12/27/2020 and is SUCH a love bug He loves to give kisses, get scratches, go on brisk walks/hikes, is very obedient, and knows his commands (very well once you stimulate him enough). He is high energy and does amazing with long lead strolls, constructive loose leash walks, and working on his commands. Benny is doing ok with cats, although at this time we wouldn't recommend a home with them. I am currently helping him understand the boundaries associated with other animals; he is excitable, curious, playful, but also quite nervous and reserved. It is clear humans have not always had a kind hand with him, but he is quickly learning to trust and let go of that. His experiences with cats and dogs were very limited before coming into rescue. He is all puppy and just wants to play, though doesn’t know boundaries and isn’t experienced. If the animal shows signs of correcting him or reacts, he overreacts out of fear and can easily make a mistake. Again, he is learning the rules very quickly and beginning to respect boundaries as a whole, but will need someone who will continue teaching him! Benny would do best in a home without other animals, however he could do well depending on personality, temperament, and owner experience. If you would like to meet this adorable dog an application must be filled out https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts. You can learn more about our rescue and process at www.new2urescue.org or find us on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/New2Urescue. You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents. We are registered in NY State with the Dept of Agriculture RR #033 and a registered 501c3 Non-Profit.

Story
Zelie’s past is a mystery, like so many dogs who find their way to rescue, but what we do know is that she’s a gentle, loving girl with a heart ready to bloom. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through. Zelie adores her person and will happily follow you everywhere — she might even step on the backs of your feet just to stay close! She would thrive in a calm, patient home that can help her continue building confidence, and she’d love a confident doggy friend to learn from. She is crate trained and often uses her crate when things get a bit too busy. Zelie is good with other dogs and is just now learning how to be a dog herself — playing, exploring, and enjoying the fun of having canine friends. She’s also good with cats; she’s curious but respectful and leaves them alone. Zelie is looking for a family who will continue to help her grow, gain confidence, and discover the joy of being a beloved dog. She’s ready to find her forever. Story
Howdy! My name Is Zayit, pronounced Za-yeet, which means olive. I might look kind of small now but I am going to grow up to be a big gal, and I mean fast! I was found dumped, scared, and alone. The kind woman who found me took me to God’s Dogs Rescue ASAP. I was covered in fleas and ticks, had worms and was rather thin! But GDR cleaned me up, fed me, gave me medicine for my tummy and to keep those pesky fleas and ticks away! Funny thing is, because I looked small at the time, they thought I was a chihuahua! My foster mom saw me and said “NO WAY! Chihuahua?” Now she tells everyone “This girl looks like a BLACK MOUTH CUR!” Do you know what that means? That means I will probably grow up to be a larger gal, maybe 60 pounds, and an active one! Daily exercise and learning tricks at minimum will keep me busy because hunters and herders are what my ancestors were known to be! And so here I am, growing by the day, eating super well and playing a lot with my new friend, Sariya. She is also my foster fur-sista, who is teaching me how to be a doggoe. We love rough housing! And she is teaching me how to play tug-of-war with her toys, but on her terms. I sleep snuggly in a big girl crate, or what my foster mama refers to as my “night-night”. It’s my safe space, my dining space, my sleeping space, my over-all private space. I am a bit shy, perhaps some will refer to me as apprehensive. When you walk towards me or try to pick me up, I might run and hide, like in my night-night. Sometimes my foster mama scoops me up and we sit together on her fuzzy chair. I am safe there too. Other times my foster brother scoops me up and tries to nap with me. I feel safe there too. Time and patience and lots of socializing folks, that’s all I need and I will luv you fur-ever. Adopt me soon!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Meet Tinka, a charming 40-pound Catahoula and Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love. Tinka is not only intelligent but also incredibly sweet. His well-trained demeanor is a testament to his eagerness to please. Tinka's love for other dogs is boundless; he's a playful companion who brings out the best in his four-legged friends. With a gentle introduction, he can even get along famously with cats, showing his adaptable nature. But what truly sets Tinka apart is his affection for children. He adores kids and is their loyal and patient friend, always ready to share his love and wagging tail. His good heart shines through in every interaction, making him the perfect addition to any family seeking a smart, sweet, and loving companion. Tinka was with the rescue as a puppy (see cute puppy pic) and was returned after found on the streets of SA :( But he is an amazing boy, had some special obedience training with his previous family and now he can be YOUR new family member!!!
