Story
*Name: Agnes *Age: 2 years old  *Current Weight: 62 lbs  *Adoption fee: $475  Meet Agnes - shes a proud ( and super cute) bloodhound with a nose that never quits, ears that could probably pick up satellite radio, and a personality that is equal parts playful, silly and cuddle bug. Let’s get the important things out of the way: • Yes, she drinks straight from the faucet like a refined woodland princess ( if you allow her) • Yes, she believes counter surfing is a competitive sport ( but shes very trainablke and a super quick learner!) • Yes, she thinks every living creature she meets is her new best friend. Agnes would absolutely thrive with an active, playful dog sibling who won’t be offended by a wrinkly hound constantly wanting to play. If your current dog has a sense of humor and stamina, Agnes would like to submit her application. She is wonderfully food motivated (translation: snacks = instant genius), and she’s already learning quickly in her foster home. With consistency and a hound-loving human willing to brush up her skills, this girl is going to shine. Her foster family has bragged to us what a quicxk learner she is and how eager to please Agnes is.  And when the playtime is over? Agnes transforms into a full-body snuggle specialist. She will melt into you with those droopy eyes and dramatic sighs like she just finished a 12-hour shift as a detective in a Southern crime drama. Her foster home is temporary, so Agnes needs to make her big move ASAP. She’s looking for a home that understands the hound life; the nose-led adventures, the enthusiasm and a home ready to help her polish her indoor manners while laughing along the way. If you’ve been searching for a joyful, goofy, faucet-drinking, counter-surfing, cuddle-loving bloodhound who will fill your home with wrinkles and ridiculousness… Agnes is ready. Adopt the nose. Embrace the chaos. Love the hound. Agnes is currently located in White Plains NY but can be transported within a reasonable distance.   She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is great with kids, making her an awesome fit for a family looking to add a loving new member. Whether she’s trotting around exploring, playing with her doggy friends, or leaning in for pets and cuddles, Agnes brings warmth and happiness wherever she goes. If you’re looking for a sweet, social, and playful companion, Agnes is ready to follow her nose straight into your heart and home. Story
Love is in the air when you meet our boy Joffrey. He is a bloodhound hound mix weighing around 67 pounds. He is a year and six months old, so he is probably full grown. Those darn cute floppy ears and accents around his beautiful amber eye tells you that he is not just hound. His short coat is tri color: black, brown and white. He is one handsome dude. Known for being gentle giants, bloodhound mixes are usually very patient and good-natured, especially with families. They have a mind of their own, as they prefer to follow their noses. Despite a reputation for being lazy, they are actually quite active, requiring 1-2 hours of daily exercise to prevent boredom-induced behaviors. They are famous for baying and howling! Those are the basic characteristics of bloodhounds, but Joffrey may not follow those paths associated with the breed. Joffrey was found as a stray. So, little is known about his past life. He is very much dog friendly and adores children. Since coming into rescue, he has not been introduced to a cat. He is working on his house, crate, and leash training. Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. A secure back yard will give him free time to play and burn off extra energy. Maybe he would also enjoy going for hikes. At home he will also benefit from lots of attention and mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. That will keep him from being bored. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Joffrey is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.March 8, 2026, 6:31 am
