Story
June is just as bright, gentle, and comforting as the perfect summer day. This sweet senior girl has spent her life working hard, and now she’s ready to slow things down, trading in her job for soft love, comfy beds, and a family who will love her just as she is. This darling Bloodhound, estimated to be around 7 years old, still has so much love to give. Despite a few medical hurdles, June’s spirit is nothing short of radiant. She has tested positive for heartworms, but don’t worry, The Humane Society of Oldham County is already in action with her treatment plan. She also has dry eye, which is managed with Optimmune Ophthalmic Ointment twice a day. Through it all, June remains pure sunshine. Her sweet, gentle nature would never give away that she’s dealing with anything at all. She’s simply happy to be loved and cared for. If you have a soft spot for hound dogs, a love for senior souls, and the ability to continue her medical care, June may be the perfect addition to your family. Submit an application through The Humane Society of Oldham County to meet this beautiful girl and give her the peaceful, love-filled golden years she deserves.

Story
Smokey has officially hung up his working-dog hat and is ready to settle into the good life. Ideally one filled with love, cozy naps, plenty of sniffing adventures, and, most importantly… a pool. Seriously, this guy lives for water. While he adores the HSOC kiddie pools, at 96.6 lbs, he tends to… overflow them a bit. A bigger water feature would make all his dreams come true. This handsome 7-year-old Bloodhound is the definition of a laid-back, gentle companion. Smokey is considered “special needs” due to dry eye, which is easily managed with Optimmune Ophthalmic Ointment twice a day. The good news? He’s an absolute pro for his eye meds, no treat bribery required. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you good company, Smokey is ready to chat. He loves to “talk” and will keep the conversation going, making him the perfect match for someone who enjoys a little back-and-forth with their best friend. Smokey is ready to spend his golden years being loved and spoiled like he deserves. If you’ve got a soft spot (and maybe a bigger pool), he just might be your perfect match. Submit an application with The Humane Society of Oldham County to meet your new best friend, our sweet Smokey.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Looking for a Love Connection Wanted: A loving home where I can be part of the family.  I’m Bonnie, a soon to be seven-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound looking to share life with the right person or family. I'd especially love a family with hound experience, one that will provide me with opportunities to learn barn hunt or take long sniff walks each day. I am dog selective, so if you have energetic, playful pups, I likely would not like them. However, if you have another laid back hound, I have been known to walk nicely with that type. See my video.Though I'm older, I respond very well to obedience training and leash training if you have some banana chips or other yummy treats to entice me!LOVES: ·         Sniff walks ·         Eating! ·         Chews ·         Meeting people (I love kids, they give the best pets) ·         Napping in the sun ·         A good run in the yard ·         Cuddling, pets, or just being right next to you DISLIKES: ·         Rain, snow, or cold ·         Being left alone for long periods of time NEEDS: ·         Fenced in yard (I can climb chain link fences) ·         Stability in routine ·         Home with no cats (I think they are toys to play with)     Estimated DOB:  05/08/2019 Adoption fee: $25 (6% KY sales tax included) *I have been sponsored    We would love to hear from you!
