Just because Smokey is a staff favorite doesn’t mean he needs to be here forever! 🐾 Smokey came to us back in March after living a long, hardworking life, and now this handsome senior gentleman is more than ready for retirement. He deserves warm beds, sunny strolls, gentle TLC, and a family to spoil him the way he’s earned. ❤️ Smokey is a 7-year-old Bloodhound weighing in at 96.6lbs of pure handsome. While Bloodhounds relatively have shorter lifespans, Smokey is currently in smooth health aside from dry eye, which is being successfully managed with Optimmune. With proper care, he has every chance to happily enjoy his golden years well into his teens. Smokey can get a little overwhelmed and rowdy around other male dogs, so he’d do best with female canine companions, or as the only dog in the home. Honestly though, there’s enough Smokey to fill the house all by himself! 😂 Smokey would LOVE to have little kiddos in his forever family, he is super tolerant of them. And with summer around the corner, Smokey has one very important request: WATER! This giant smush absolutely adores kiddie pools and will happily curl up in one like it’s the world’s most luxurious air-conditioned bed. If your home has a pool, hose, pond, or any kind of water feature, Smokey is all in. Thankfully, his love of water also makes bath time and grooming a breeze! Smokey is READY for his forever home.
