These lyrics from my favorite, old time, T.V show describe me perfectly. I am a big dog with a winning smile, I have a singing hound dog voice and love to take treats from my friends. I can be as loving as any dog; but am a bit afraid of strangers, bicycles, joggers and people that have not taken the time to get to know me. That is why suburbia is not a great fit for me. I long for a quiet country life. When I am at home, I am a big couch potato. I am house trained, and I love having a big bed, and sitting with friends on some furniture. When properly introduced, I love my people and give big hound dog hugs. I need a home with a very strong, experienced owner and no children. Please come visit, give me a treat, and let me serenade you! Since I have reached my golden years, I am eligible for the Senior Care Plan (learn more here). A 10-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, Journee’s name came from the English word for “journey,” or a trip of some kind. This name suits her well because her life so far has been a journey, the destination being a loving forever home. Journee’s foster saw her in the kill shelter, pulled her out, and brought her home and into rescue. She was 5 months old then, about 10 months old now, and in the 5 months since her rescue, she has grown almost to her full size of 55 pounds. Her short coat is tricolor, but mostly white, and her eyes big and brown and hopeful. She loves children, other dogs, and even cats. Being adopted would mean the end of her journey because she would have found you WAITING FOR HER at home.   Wade, Weston and Warren are 15-week-old mixes of Plott Hound and Lab! They were found in the woods and a Good Samaritan rescued them and took them to safety. They weigh 9-14 puppy pounds now and should mature to around 45 pounds. These boys are so cuddly and so loving! They love being around people and other dogs, and even do well with cats! Wade wears a short red/brown and white coat while Weston and Warren wear short brown and white coats with a brindle pattern! These pups have great temperaments and are ready to be in their family’s arms! Won’t you adopt one of these precious babies? (ME, 2/16/24)     **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip .
