Story
I got him through this site, he’s a sweet puppy. He’s potty trained but he’s a little petty, so he will pee in his crate if he’s mad. He likes to chase his tail a lot but loves being close to people. He’s very sweet and loves people, he loves playing. He hasn’t ever hurt anyone, but he is very protective. He’s a little over a year old, I simply don’t have the time to care for him anymore. He does chase cats to play, though he doesn’t try to hurt them. He hasn’t ever interacted with small children.

Story
Current Location: Frederick, MD Meet Retta Lynn Retta Lynn is a 6 year young, 45 pound Bloodhound mix with soulful searching eyes and long, silky ears that seem to exist purely for petting. She is equal parts curious explorer and affectionate companion. Personality Retta Lynn is a sweet, engaging girl who loves to play. She enjoys chasing the ball, squeaky toys, and exploring her surroundings like she is on an important mission. She has a voice and is not afraid to use it. A little commentary is part of her charm. She is also known to test the counter surfing limits, but she is learning the house rules and improving with guidance. Energy and Activity Retta Lynn enjoys walks and is learning her leash manners. She is doing well and getting better with consistency. She has a nice balance. She will play, explore, and engage, then settle in and relax once she has had her fun. The Details That Matter • Sweet and affectionate • Enjoys toys and playtime • Loves walks and outdoor time • Learning leash skills • Smart and responsive with guidance Best Home Fit Retta Lynn would do well in a home that enjoys a little personality and a little conversation. She would thrive with someone who will continue her training, keep her active, and appreciate her playful spirit. If you are looking for a dog with character, heart, and those irresistible ears just waiting to be stroked, Retta Lynn is ready to follow her nose right into your life.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. "My Home to Yours"   Here is Bo, whose caregivers found him as a stray at the Smith Mountain Lake Dam in a neighboring county. When he stayed around for a few days in the area, they broke down and took him to their home to keep him safe. Bo has seen their family vet and is nice and healthy now, and has made himself right at home. He fits in well with their other dogs, but they feel he outsizes them and really want to find him a home where he can use those long legs and BIG VOICE more freely! Five years old, 85 pounds, gentle! Send us an application and we will forward it to the family!   We have had numerous requests from citizens in our county to help them rehome their pets, but they are willing to keep them in the home until it happens, rather than bring them to the overflowing shelter at Campbell County Animal Control near Yellow Branch. We are listing those cats and dogs on our website as "My Home to Yours." We ask that interested adopters fill out the FOAC application, and we will pass it along to the family wanting to rehome. We cannot guarantee health, temperament, or behavior for these pets, as we have not met them. However, we are happy to act as a resource for issues that may arise. **For pets not spayed or neutered, we are happy to help set that up!
