Story
At 4 years old and around 60 pounds, Winslow is a handsome guy with an independent spirit and a nose that never stops working! Whether he's out on a walk or exploring the yard, you'll usually find him with his nose to the ground, investigating every scent he can find. Winslow is a bit of an aloof fellow who likes to do things his own way. He's not the type to constantly seek attention, but he enjoys having his people nearby while he goes about his daily adventures. His laid-back, independent personality makes him a great match for someone who appreciates a dog with a mind of his own. Winslow would do best in an adult-only home where he can settle into a routine and enjoy life at his own pace. If you're looking for a loyal companion who would rather follow an interesting scent trail than be the center of attention, Winslow may be the perfect fit for you!

Story
Jolene is the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. We are not able to fill her attention needs in the season of life we’re in so rather than let her starve for the attention I want this sweet girl to find a home with more time and love for her than we do.She’s got all the basic training aside from leash training. She is very eager to please so any additional training should be fairly easy. She seems happy in any environment as long as she’s getting plenty of love and I believe she has potential for a great adventure buddy and/or emotional support dog.One main issue we’ve struggled with is while she loves any attention she prefers adults so anytime she perceives an opening for adults she gets tunnel vision and barrels through what ever is in her way. Because of this I tend to worry about her knocking down little children and elderly. However as long as she’s not locked in on an adult she is actually very gentle with children.Someone please give this gem the love she deserves!

Story
Hi, I'm Hope — a striking red Bloodhound mix who's ready for an adventure with you! 🐕 At just 1 year old and 53 pounds, I'm full of energy and curiosity, with a clever mind and a goofy side that'll keep you smiling. I'm spayed, housetrained, and crate trained, so I'm set up for success in the right home — I do best with adults only and need a home without cats, but I'm loyal and playful once I bond with my person. If you're looking for an adventurous companion who's smart, spirited, and ready to explore the world by your side, come meet me! 💫

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. "My Home to Yours"   After several months with this family, Bo is fitting in beautifully! He is fine with cats and the other dogs, despite the size differences. He is a gentleman with everyone he meets, and is housetrained. Can't ask for a better friend!   Here is Bo, whose caregivers found him as a stray at the Smith Mountain Lake Dam in a neighboring county. When he stayed around for a few days in the area, they broke down and took him to their home to keep him safe. Bo has seen their family vet and is nice and healthy now, and has made himself right at home. He fits in well with their other dogs, but they feel he outsizes them and really want to find him a home where he can use those long legs and BIG VOICE more freely! Five years old, 85 pounds, gentle! Send us an application and we will forward it to the family!   (We have had numerous requests from citizens in our county to help them rehome their pets, but they are willing to keep them in the home until it happens, rather than bring them to the overflowing shelter at Campbell County Animal Control near Yellow Branch. We are listing those cats and dogs on our website as "My Home to Yours." We ask that interested adopters fill out the FOAC application, and we will pass it along to the family wanting to rehome. We cannot guarantee health, temperament, or behavior for these pets, as we have not met them. However, we are happy to act as a resource for issues that may arise. **For pets not spayed or neutered, we are happy to help set that up!)     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 26, 2026, 2:39 pm
