Meet Zeus: The Big, Loveable Goofball Who Just Needs the Right Kingdom
Hey there, I'm Zeus! I'm a 3-year-old male Doberman with cropped ears, a docked tail, and 110 pounds of pure, unapologetic sweetness. I am goofy, affectionate, and will be your best friend approximately 30 seconds after meeting you. I have some specific needs, so read on — if you're the right match, I am SO worth it.
Personality: I am a lover, full stop. I will find you, lean on you, and make it very clear that you are my favorite person. I'm an indoor dog through and through — AC, couch, your company. That said, if you're outside with me or there's a squirrel to chase, I'm in. Fair warning: I won't jump a fence, but I will dig, so eyes on me outside please.
My Story: I came into rescue due to same-sex aggression and littermate syndrome with my brother — we simply couldn't live together safely, and my family made the loving call to let us both have better lives. In my most recent adoptive home, I had two separate incidents with children that resulted in bites. We are being fully transparent because the right placement depends on it. I cannot be in a home with children — not living there, not visiting, not occasionally. This is absolute. GDR is also having me evaluated by a professional behaviorist before placement, and results will be shared with all approved applicants.
Other Animals: No male dogs, ever. I do well with females. No cats or small animals, my prey drive is too high.
Manners & Training: I'm a fast learner who loves to train. I know sit, wait, and stay. I have excellent house manners — no begging, no counter surfing, fully potty trained and crate trained. I walk best on a head halter. A home that enjoys training will get the best out of me. Oh, and if anyone gets in a swimming pool, I will bark at them until they get out. I've decided pools are dangerous and I stand by that.
Zeus Needs: An adult-only home with no children, both residing, or visiting. No male dogs. A physically capable, experienced handler comfortable with structure and consistency. Supervised yard time.
Health & Vetting: Neutered, microchipped, up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo vaccines. Heartworm negative and negative for intestinal parasites. Behaviorist evaluation in progress.
