Story
My given name from my foster mom is exactly who I am. Asta... this name means "divine strength", "love", and "star-like". I was abandoned by my first family on the side of the highway for a few months with my sister Kinsley. She was my protector during that time. I was terribly traumatized by being abandoned. Today I'm a shining star with beautiful grey eyes that match my coat. I like to play and go on backyard adventures with my sister and dog foster family. I like everyone and get along with other dogs and I'm a bit submissive and respectful towards everyone. I have beautiful pleading grey eyes that draw attention and make most ppl say awwwww and have a low key nature about me. We love each other very much and want to stay together for life! Please find it in your heart to adopt us together! We promise years of love and fun :) Local adoption fee together is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee together is $600 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Doberman Pinscher Labrador Retriever

Male, 5 mos
Rochester, NY
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Harley is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. -Harley is a male and is 5-6 months old (January 24th) -He and his 2 brothers look completely different, Harley looks like a Doberman (sleek bodied, long thin face), one looks like a Shepherd mix, and another looks like a Shepherd/Rottie mix. So, I think they are a mixed bag breed-wise. Can only go off of looks for now. -Weighs around 20 pounds on January 24 -Came into a local shelter due to an abuse/neglect case -Does well with other dogs -Probably best with older children at time of posting, he and siblings get excited and nip at end of your shirt/coat sleeves for attention/when excited -May be housebroken, does not go to the bathroom in his crate/kennel and immediately uses the bathroom when he is put outside -Very friendly, loves attention and pets -Loves to run and be outside -Video of Harley from January 18: https://youtube.com/shorts/7XvllxcKUbY Harley is neutered, vaccinated (DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies), dewormed, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Health certificate and exam will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport. Adoption fee is $900, this is including all vetting above and transport cost. Please fill out this application FIRST if you'd like to adopt Harley: https://form.jotform.com/243134969050053 If you aren't contacted within 48 hours after filling out online form, please contact us again at 580-257-0622 or luckypawsdoghouse@gmail.com. Story
Meet MUMBLES! Mumbles is a 3 year old cattle dog mix. He is such a affectionate pup but does require an owner who understands the needs of his active breed (heeler/cattle dog). Mumbles is still very much a puppy and is VERY active, he can jump high so we do require applicants to always have him on a lead unless he's inside a 6' or higher fenced in yard. Mumbles is NOT good with other animals and needs to be the only animal in the home. He IS great with humans, though, including kids. Mumbles LOVES his humans, loves to play and would love a home to cuddle up by your side after a nice run in the yard. He does great with kids, responds to recall, and listens to commands. Mumbles is very obedient and eager to please his humans. 🤪He is not a great dog to take neighborhood walks with - we do have a professional dog walker who does it successfully, but if Mumbles sees another dog, he WILL lunge towards them. Luckily he's not very big (~45 lbs) so he's manageable for most people. If someone were vigilant, neighborhood walks may be okay with head on a swivel or a quiet neighborhood, but Mums is super reactive to other dogs. He'd love best to have a big fenced in yard with a 7' fence - but barring that, a vigilant walker in a quieter neighborhood (no apartment complexes with shared courtyard area, for example) could work. Mumbles' adoption fee is sponsored in part by a fan of his who wasn't able to adopt because of other dogs, for the right home. This dog is part of a partner rescue in NY, and is available to a larger distance from us than normal - within a few hour distance from Rochester, NY, OR between Rochester and NYC area and closer to the NY tri-state area. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺ADOPTION AREA: Several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3hrs IS allowed), except the young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination in order to cross the border- usually around 16 weeks).

Story
AKIRA gets lots of praise from her new foster. They say besides her beautiful looks, she's got a winning personality and loves others dogs and cats, and to play as well as a good snuggle. She's estimated young at 1-2 and fully vetted. She looks to be some kind of Corgi cattle dog type mix, and is only 36 lbs, so a perfect lapful! She can be on the shyer side and would benefit from another playful dog in the home for confidence, and at this point in time she needs a fenced yard as her foster currently has one and she is not taking to the leash.
