Story
WOOF! I'M CARTER, a sweet, loving and happy 4-year-old Doberman/Shepherd mix who needs a foster or forever home. I love humans and being around my person or people. I was originally rescued from a California shelter and am now am in Washington! I am house-trained and crate trained (I love my crate) I love running, playing with my squeaky toys, going for walks and snuggling with humans. If you let me, I'll share your bed! I have an easygoing and funny personality, and am looking for someone to offer me a safe and comfortable home. I would do well with a fenced yard as I love to do the zoomies! I'm super smart and I learn quickly: I know the commands of "easy" (when I'm getting a treat), "stay" and I am learning to sit on command. I'm very receptive to training and am food motivated and super smart! I'm good with other dogs and love to wrestle, and I learned quickly to be with horses in a respective way. Still, I would thrive as an only pet, only because I love attention from humans so much! I would do well in an active, calm, family-oriented environment, with a single person, a couple or a family. I love kids, and would love to wrestle with teenagers! I can also be low energy as I love to lay around and relax, too. I can pull on a leash during walks, and be protective of the home and my people, but those are my only traits that could use a little work. :) Overall, I'm a wonderful dog who deserves a great home. I am a gentle giant who will thrive in a home where he’s given structure and consistent training. With love and some minor training, I will be an amazing companion. I weigh 68 lbs. Please email for an application! I'm currently in Washington, but can be transported to North Dakota soon.

It took him a little time to get comfortable, but he's definitely getting there. He responds well to us, comes when called, and doesn’t try to run off. He’s especially attached to my wife—he follows her everywhere and has truly become her shadow! Zipline does great when he's loose in the house. We had a couple of “lift the leg” incidents early on, but it’s been a long time since the last one. He takes correction well—just a firm voice is enough to get the message across. Zipline absolutely loves his stuffed toys (which are now mostly unstuffed!) and has started playing with our pup. Every night, he pops in a couple of times to say hi, and he’s always the first one in the room in the morning to greet us.   **  Zipline is Lyme positive. This is a tick-borne illness, and he is currently being treated with Doxycycline. To learn more about Lyme disease in dogs, read here:   https://share.google/sm9cgo5mKn9jjUmWWTo view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org December 17, 2025, 7:33 pm
