What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  Hunter was rescued from a high kill shelter and will be arriving 1/17/26. Meet Doc 🐶💙 Doc is an approximately 4 year old coonhound mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for attention. He is a lovable, affectionate boy who truly enjoys being close to his people and will happily nose his way in if you are petting another dog. Doc is crate trained and continuing to work on house training. He knows how to use a doggie door and is making great progress. He had some marking behaviors early on, which have improved significantly with structure and routine. He is very dog friendly and loves to play with other dogs. Doc has not been tested with cats and has only lived with adult children, but his sweet and gentle nature suggests he would likely do well with respectful kids. He appears to have lived mostly outdoors or in a one story home before rescue, but he has now discovered the couch and loves settling in right next to his person. He recently conquered the staircase and continues to gain confidence every day. Doc is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventions. Adoption Fee $200 local in Texas $450 out of state with transport included 🚐

I am so blessed and greatful to be in a nice, warm, loving home, rather than a cold crate waiting to be rescued. There are so many more like me out there. This Valentine’s Day, please take me to my furever home so my foster mama can save another pup just like me. You have no idea how much love I can fill your heart with if you just give me a chance. I have been making strides and progressing well over this last month but I still have some work to do….but, I’m a smart boy and catching on. Will you continue on this road with me?? Found as a stray in Long Beach Mississippi he was brought to the Humane Society of South Mississippi. He’s smart, alert, and loves having a job to do — whether that’s exploring the outdoors, playing with purpose, or learning something new. He did seem a little reserved and shy at first, but with a little time and meeting new people he has become more comfortable with his surroundings and has opened up a bit. Hayden thrives on activity and engagement, making him a great match for an adopter who enjoys adventure and understands working-breed energy. He bonds closely with his people and brings both enthusiasm and devotion to the relationship. He does fine around other dogs. He is a little unsure at first but once he has a few minutes to warm up he starts to run around and play with the other dog. If you’re looking for a bright, athletic companion with personality and drive, Hayden is ready to put his heart to work for his forever family. Hayden is up to date on vaccines and prevention. He will be neutered upon adoption and even though he has tested positive for heartworms we have no doubt that with proper treatment he can live out the rest of his long life happy and healthy. Hayden's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. He was picked up by Harrison County Animal Control on January 22nd, 2026 with no collar or microchip to identify him. He loves to be a lap dog and snuggle close to you at all times. He has a beautiful dapple coat color, is only 38lbs, great on a leash, and knows how to sit and lay down. We think he would be great with kids due to his gentle demeanor. He is great with other dogs, and would love to meet your pup if you have one. Catahoula's are a highly intelligent working breed who are perfect for farm life or a household who like to go on adventures. Hunner is heartworm positive by no fault of his own. With proper treatment Hunner can live out his life happy and healthy. This sweet baby deserves it so much.
