Meet Blue, a talkative Bluetick Hound with puppy eyes that could melt anyone’s heart. Blue was found wandering the streets of Jemison, Alabama, but you’d never guess she had been alone. From the moment we met her, she was all tail wags and friendliness, greeting everyone like an old friend. Drool and all, Blue doesn’t even notice when she’s slobbering on you—she’s too busy sharing her joy. At about 4 years old, she’s the perfect mix of energy and maturity. Blue loves car rides, adores attention, and has a voice to match her hound heritage—always ready to “chat” with you in her own special way. And while she’s no puppy, her soulful eyes still sparkle with that same sweet innocence. Blue is looking for a forever family who will appreciate her goofy charm, hound “conversations,” and all the love she has to give. Name: FINN Age: 3 years (born February 10, 2022) Breed: 50% American Foxhound, 20% Labrador Retriever, and 30% Super Mutt Finn is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves kids and puppies. She is happiest outdoors – running through the woods, playing in the snow, splashing in the water or digging at the beach. After adventuring, she loves to curl up by a cozy fire and relax with her people. Finn is loyal, gentle and playful. As a true outdoor-loving dog, Finn thrives with plenty of exercise and space. She would do best with a family – especially one with multiple people or someone who works from home – who can give her the activity, attention, and companionship she loves. A home with a backyard or access to long, daily walks would be ideal. Finn was professionally trained as a puppy. She is housebroken, does not need to be in a crate (but was crate-trained), can sit, lie down and stay. She was on Hill’s Science Diet food until recently switching to Farmer’s Dog, which she loves. Her favorite human foods are cheese and peanut butter. All of her medical records are available and all vaccinations are up to date. Because none of us are perfect…. Finn gets overly excited and still jumps up on people. She isn’t perfect with all dogs – it really depends on the breed. My vet says she likes easy-tempered, happy dogs (ex. Golden Retrievers) or puppies who aren’t a threat. When she senses dogs to be a threat or a bit aggressive, she will defend herself. Finn can also get very territorial around sticks or balls with other dogs around. She can be stubborn. She has some noise aversions – trucks, helicopters, sirens – all of the Big City noises. And, she does not love the car. We found and ended up rescuing this gorgeous Blue Tick Coonhound from an abusive house that didn’t want her anymore and just let her loose. We found her trying to cross a busy road, with an intestinal obstruction and covered in ticks and fleas. Now she’s thriving and recovering from the trauma. She is slightly older than 1, very well mannered and has a great temperament and personality. Her only issue was she wouldn’t accept to be easily mounted by male dogs (she was intended to be a breeding dog), so she had no use for her past owners. She is learning how to walk on a leash, how to eat kibble and hopefully one day she will learn how to play (she was kept chained and never played before). Whoever wants to adopt her will have to be able to afford her spay surgery and vaccines since the previous owners never bothered to do any of that (this is the only requirement we have).

Beau is a 6-year-old purebred Bluetick Coonhound from champion bloodlines, purchased from a breeder in North Carolina with AKC papers.He is incredibly loyal, loving, intelligent, and goofy. I’ve spent countless hours training him, and he is obedient, eager to please, great with other dogs, and loves being active and outdoors.Rehoming Beau is heartbreaking because he is truly part of our family. However, with two young children, I no longer have the time and attention to give him the life he deserves. He would thrive with someone who can provide more space, activity, freedom, and companionship.This is not about getting rid of him, it’s about finding the right home where he can truly thrive. I’m being extremely selective because finding the right family for Beau is incredibly important to me.

Story

Meet Soup, a sweet, affectionate hound with a heart as big as his floppy ears. Mostly Treeing Walker Coonhound with a little Bluetick Coonhound and Poodle, Soup is happiest exploring trails, following his nose, cuddling on the couch, or solving puzzle games. We adopted him five years ago, and he has been a joyful, loving companion ever since. He loves other dogs, enjoys off-leash play with reliable recall, and has been trained with an e-collar to help manage his hound instincts. He also lives peacefully with our cat, Jones—they spend their days chasing each other around the house. Soup is fully house-trained and has never had accidents in the house. He does require a special diet and more hands-on care for his ongoing GI condition than we can provide as we prepare to welcome our first child. We hope to find a loving home that can give this wonderful boy the care and affection he deserves.
