Blue is a boisterous and energetic hound who loves to explore and sniff all there is to smell. He is affectionate when he works out the energy. He will be happiest with a big fenced-in yard to run around and lots of long walks. He has the hound vocalization, and his baying sounds a lot like the wrestler Rick Flair if you remember him from back in the day. Gomez has returned from foster and is so ready to meet his forever family. This shy, sensitive soul showed us exactly what we already knew deep down: with a little patience and kindness, Gomez can improve. If your home is looking for… - A ton of laughs - The cutest face you’ve ever seen - Perfect floppy ears - A very boopable snoot - A precious puppy who just needs gentle guidance and love …then Gomez might just be your guy. At 11 months old and weighing just under 32 pounds, Gomez is the perfect medium-sized companion. We suspect he may be mixed with Bluetick Coonhound, just in a smaller, more compact package! He still has that fun puppy energy, but balances it beautifully with his love for relaxing once he feels comfortable. During his time in foster, Gomez did pretty good. He picked up on potty-training, enjoyed romping outside with his foster sibling, and happily settled in for cozy downtime inside the home. He would make a great friend for another dog (meet-and-greets are required), and we believe he would do well with cats. We can officially cat-test him upon request. Gomez will thrive in a patient, calm home that understands shy pups need a little time to build trust. Once he does? You’ll have a loyal, loving companion who is absolutely worth every bit of effort. Meet Gomez at The Humane Society of Oldham County, or come see him at Tractor Supply in La Grange this Saturday, March 7th from 11am–2pm. Let’s find this special boy the forever home he deserves.
