Are your dogs potty trained?Unless the dog's bio specifically states that they are potty trained, you can assume they are not. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter.2. Do you transport to other locations?Currently, we transport to Wilmington, Ohio, Greenwood, Indiana, Washington, PA, and Lake City, FL.3. Is this cat/dog still available?If the cat or dog is listed on Adopt-A-Pet and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal.4. How long does it take to hear back about my application?It can take up to 10 days to receive a response from us. If you do not hear back within this timeframe, please understand that we may have chosen not to move forward with your application. Iris is a beautiful great dog. She knows how to use doggie door to go outside. She does well in travel crate & sleeps all night in it. She doesn’t like regular metal Crate. I got her from a breeder who kept her outside with other dogs. She loves to go on walks and play. So she is an active dog. She needs a home with a tall fence that she can’t climb. She loves to learn new things so she is easy to train. I’m just looking for someone who can devote more attention to her. She escalates in play and becomes super dominant with older dog that is submissive & not wanting to play that way. Might be better off being the only dog.

George is a blue tick coon hound. He is great with other dogs and hard. No with cats!! He is learning to walk on a leash and loves to sniff. He does not know he is a large dog and loves to cuddle. We currently have 3 other dogs in our home, so for safety, we feed him in his kennel and keep him in the kennel while we are gone. He seems to do fine, but we have never gone long. He would probably be good with kids, but again, he thinks he is a small dog, which he is about 70lbs.October 6, 2026, 10:40 pm

He would thrive with someone willing to work with him on manners/commands as he was stuck to live in a small kennel outside for his life with no real human interaction. He adapts well. We have nicknamed him Ric Flair, because just like Ric he has: The unmistakable strut, The overdramatic flop, The flagrant low blow, and The… "Woooooooo!" You'd have to hear it to believe it.  He is super affectionate once he works out the energy. Loves kids, people and gets along well with most other dogs, especially if they have his playful behavior. He will be happiest with a big fenced-in yard to run around in, lots of long adventurous walks and daily playtime.
