Meet Doc 🐶💙 Doc is an approximately 4 year old coonhound mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for attention. He is a lovable, affectionate boy who truly enjoys being close to his people and will happily nose his way in if you are petting another dog. Doc is crate trained and continuing to work on house training. He knows how to use a doggie door and is making great progress. He had some marking behaviors early on, which have improved significantly with structure and routine. He is very dog friendly and loves to play with other dogs. Doc has not been tested with cats and has only lived with adult children, but his sweet and gentle nature suggests he would likely do well with respectful kids. He appears to have lived mostly outdoors or in a one story home before rescue, but he has now discovered the couch and loves settling in right next to his person. He recently conquered the staircase and continues to gain confidence every day. Doc is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventions. Hello my name is Libby, I'm from Minnesota! Libby is a very Sweet girl who loves to be loved! Libby enjoys using her Beagle nose to sniff around my fenced backyard on nice days when I am doing yard work. She also enjoys the company of other dogs as well and she will bark in excitement when the other dogs are in a game of chase. Libby is doing well with her housetraining and crate training being on a schedule. She walks nice on a leash and rides nice in the car. Libby is very treat motivated as treats are one of her favorite things! Libby is a Sweetheart who would like a fenced backyard and another canine low to moderate energy level or family members that will spend time with her along with treats of course!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.River is a large, lanky female hound mix who was found running loose. She was held for the legal stray hold and no one claimed her. We do think she was part of a litter of hound pups that came through our shelter in February 2024 as she looks exactly like many of them and we know we never received all of those puppies. This lets us know that she is a 2 year old bluetick coonhound/Great Dane mix. River has been vet checked and spayed and her fee is $150. Hounds. Ya gotta love'em! They're stubborn, fun loving, and ruled by their noses and the scents on the breeze. River is energetic, strong, and does like to push the boundaries. She's also extremely happy and loving. She will require a secure environment and a lot of exercise. At this time, we do think she'd do best as the only pet in the home, at least until she gets some good training and socialization. She definitely needs some basic training and would do best in a home without little kids, due to her size and somewhat clumsy nature. River will definitely be a loyal and happy companion for someone. She loves to give hugs. This gal has spent too much time at the shelter and is more than ready to head to a new home! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.
