Story
Hi there! My name is Guava! I’m a year and half year old spayed female Poodle mix and I'm currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home! Sweet, refreshing, packed with goodness! Just like the fruit, I tend to bring a bit of sunshine everywhere I go. I was originally brought into the shelter when my family could no longer take care of me. I was mainly living outside before and got to play with chickens and goats my previous people owned but honestly... I don't think I'm ready to go back to the farm life. I've got my sights set on the good life now- cozy beds, air conditioning, and being a full-time indoor companion. I've lived with kids and other dogs before and love to play with fellow canines, though they sure do have to keep up with me! Beneath this soft exterior, I have plenty of energy and a zest for life so I would thrive in a home with patient adopters who can brush up on all my basic manners. Another thing: my gorgeous coat is part of my charm so I'll need a family who can keep up with regular brushing and grooming so I stay polished, comfortable, and stunnningg! So come on in and meet me; because where I'm chasing toys, exploring new scents, or soaking up attention, I tend to leave everyone feeling a little bit happier than they were before they saw me. Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!
