Story
Hi, I’m Benny! I'm an 8-lb, 8-month-old Poodle. I'm looking for squirrels (to chase), scritches, and a sweet family who will love me forever. Could that be you? Favorite Things:  The outdoors is fascinating to this little guy. He loves to chase squirrels and birds in the backyard. Noises outside (and inside) startle him, though, especially cars and garbage trucks. Above all, Benny LOVES toys. He likes to drop a toy at your feet then take it away before you can get it. He also loves it if you throw him a toy: he'll slide across the floor to retrieve it, then runs full speed back to you. Tug of war is also a favorite game for Benny. After a long day of exploring or playing, he likes to nap with his paws or body touching his person. Benny prefers scratches to petting and will ask for them by jumping in your lap.  Training & Manners: Benny has the makings of a good boy! He is making good progress with housetraining, loves car rides, and sleeps in his dog bed through the night. He's just working on a few basic manners, like walking on a leash. (At the moment, he'll walk 5 feet then sit down and look around.) He's also still in his puppy chewing phase.  Health & Care: Benny is a healthy boy! He'll just need his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. As a Poodle, he'll also need regular brushing plus professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to ensure he looks his best.  Other Animals: Benny is being introduced to other neighborhood dogs who are his size. Benny hasn't been observed around cats yet, but his foster doesn't think they'd be a good match.  Children: Benny gets along well with calm, respectful children.  Ideal Home: Benny is equally at home in an apartment, condo, or single-family home: anywhere there is someone around who will love him forever! Overall: Benny may be tiny, but he has a giant heart. All he needs is a family who will love him forever and whom he can love in return. Is that you? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption or foster application. If it seems like a good match, our team will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $600. ##2741206##

Story
Hi, I’m Thunder and don’t let the name fool you, I’m more of a soft rumble than a storm. I’m a 2 year old Papillon weighing just 7.8 lbs, with a gentle nature and a love for being near my favorite humans. I take in the world at my own pace and once I settle in my playful, wiggly personality begins to shine. I enjoy cozy moments, quiet connection and building trust over time, rewarding patience with loyalty, sweetness and plenty of snuggles. Favorite Things: Thunder enjoys peaceful days spent nearby, whether that’s stretching out in a warm lap or simply relaxing alongside his family. He has a light, playful side but is just as happy unwinding and soaking up calm, affectionate moments. Training and Manners: Thunder is puppy pad trained and thrives with a consistent routine. He has solid basic manners and is steadily building confidence. While he’s still learning outdoor house training and leash skills, he responds well to guidance. When home alone, Thunder is comfortable with free rein or a secure space and may briefly vocalize before settling. He sleeps soundly in his own bed and continues to progress as his routine becomes familiar. Health and Care: Thunder is a healthy boy who is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines. Like all dogs, he will need monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. His beautiful long coat benefits from regular brushing and occasional grooming. Other Animals: Thunder has limited experience with other animals but may do well with dogs of a similar size and energy level with proper introductions. A gradual, thoughtful approach will help set him up for success. Children: Thunder does best with older children (8+) who understand how to interact gently and calmly. Ideal Home: Thunder will do best in an apartment, condo or townhome with a low-key, structured environment. While he can be alone for a few hours, he enjoys having regular companionship. An ideal adopter will be patient and consistent, helping him continue to build confidence and settle into everyday life. Overall: Thunder is a sweet, affectionate little dog with a tender spirit. He may take a moment to come out of his shell, but once he does, Thunder becomes a devoted companion who loves to stay close. In the right home, he will blossom into a deeply loyal and loving best friend proving that even the smallest rumble can bring the biggest joy. If Thunder sounds like your perfect match? If so fill out an application at Poodleandpoochrescue.org and fill out an application. If it seems like a good fit his foster family will reach out. His adoption donation is $500. ##2741967##
