Story
I'm Frito, a 1-year-old, male, 9-pound mostly white with some tan Havanese. My new CAWS family rescued me from a puppy mill way from the east, my journey took a couple weeks for us to finally arrive safe and sound, but now my new forever rescue group will be sure to help me find my ultimate furever family. Everything is so new to me but my foster mom and 4 legged siblings just let me decompress and were very, very, very slow to introduce me to the new ways a dog can live and be loved unconditionally. I truly like my other 4 legged siblings, big and small, male and female. After being in my foster home for a few months now I love love love playing with anyone who will play with me so I have to go to a home with another 4 legged companion. I really like to play with the 30-pound heeler sibling in my foster home, she is ever so gentle with me, I really like that. I also play with another 9-pound, 8-year-old male and 13-year-old female, just anyone who will indulge me. We all cuddle on the couch and in an open crate or on the floor with numerous beds for us to pick and choose. I conquered house training, my foster mom gets me out on a regular basis, whew, so I learned very quickly. I do like to nibble on my 2 legged people's toes and fingers so I need to have my own chew toys. Because I am only a year old I am a very busy little body, roaming here and there, darting to and fro, so much to check out. I paw at my foster mom a little when she picks me up. I am still learning this very new way of life so it will take time for me to totally feel 100 percent safe with new and quick motions not scaring me. Because I get startled I cannot go to a home with little kids, I need to be in a home with older people who will go slow with me. I learned to walk on a leash with a harness. My progressions have been so unbelievable, if I don't say so myself, I am pretty darn smart, whew. I have a little squeaky voice when I talk and get excited but it is an ever so soft little squeak. My foster mom tells me every day she likes to hear me make these little noises cuz I really do get to be a dog now. I need to go to a home with a secure fenced yard cuz I am still trying to find security. If you have the patience and time to let this little man open up and become a dog, please arrange for a meet and greet. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Ava! This big and beautiful lab x poodle mix girl is 2-1/2 years old and weighs in around 55#. She is ready to get out and go on adventures! Ava is sweet, affectionate, active and SUPER smart. She would love to be a social and active partner (in crime?) to a family that can take her out and show her all of the good things in life! Ava is great with older kids and loves everyone she meets. She is probably happiest living as an only dog as she can be choosy about who she shares her space with. She does great when out and about meeting people and other pets, and loves to explore with her person. Ava will require a home free of small animals as she can be a little drivvy and will generally engage in a game of chase if given the opportunity. So no cats or other small pets. Ava is crate, house, and leash trained! She is best crated when she can't have her people with her as it makes her feel safe and secure, and keeps her curious mind out of trouble. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
This handsome pup is River. He is a two year old Bernadoodle with a spirit full of adventure. River is 80 pounds of pure love and attaches to his people quickly. His sweetness and friendliness make him a wonderful companion, always ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a playful bounce. River's goofiness is endearing, a trait that never fails to bring a smile to everyone's face. He loves playing with other playful dogs, but he is a little too much for the cats and chickens in his foster home. He is house trained and is trusted to be left out in the house while you are gone not to get into anything he shouldn't. His favorite hobbies include frolicking in the yard, chewing on a good bone, and a nice walk around the neighborhood to sniff and explore. As an explorer, River loves to discover new places and experiences, his confidence shining through in every adventure. As with any doodle, he will require regular grooming to keep his curly coat tangle free. His easy-going nature makes him an ideal co pilot, and he would love to accompany you on all of your errands. River's perpetual smile is a testament to his joyous nature, a quality that is sure to bring happiness into any home. Adopting River means gaining a faithful friend, a playful companion, and a loyal partner in adventure. Let River fill your life with joy, love, and countless smiles.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal.
