Story
Hi! I'm Hex, the superhero kitten with a tale of adventure. One day, while exploring a bustling city alley, I used my 'super whiskers' to save a bunch of tiny critters from a maze of boxes. After our little rescue mission, a kind gentleman found me and brought me here to Paws Animal Shelter. I love to play and explore, always on the lookout for my next big adventure. I'm sweet, friendly, curious, and gentle, making me the perfect sidekick. Looking for a hero? Adopt me, and let's start our own story!Note from Paws humans: We really don't know anything about Hex's background, except that he was found in Springfield, so we'll have to accept his story.  He's a super sweet, playful and loving kitten, who does seem like he's always up for an adventure! Story
Hi, I'm Echo, a sweet and friendly cat who loves gentle pets and scratches. I enjoy the simple pleasures of life, like a good nap in the sun and the soft jingle of my toy ball.  I've gone through some rough times, but I adjusted and am doing fine now.  I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my affection and companionship. If you're looking for a calm, loving friend, I'm the perfect match. Let's create our cozy corner in this big world together.Note from Paws humans: Echo came to us when his owner became homeless and was thus unable to care for him.  He had been with the man for nine years, so he was understandably confused at finding himself in an animal shelter with a number of other cats.  We're a free-roaming shelter, and once cats have been in a room for a few days we open the cage so they can come and go as they please.  Echo spent the first few weeks in his room (the Kool Katz room) on top of the big cage where he could see everything that was happening and still feel safe.  As he has adjusted he's now coming down and sleeping on the cat trees like his roommates.  Even when he was hanging out on top of the cage, he loved it when we would climb on a chair and pet him.  He'd come over right away for some loving.  He's a very sweet boy who just wants a forever home.  To apply to adopt any of our cats or kittens, please visit our website and fill out our on-line application at https://www.pawsurbana.org/apply-to-adopt.

Not good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
We adopted Hank from PetSmart about a year ago. He’s around a year and 4 months or so. For him to go to new home it would have to be a dog free home. He has started being very territorial towards everything our dog touches. And my dog of course is territorial right back our dog is not fixed, but Hank is. Hank is a very sweet cat and loves head rubs. He is a very calm and chill cat who loves sleep. He also enjoys chasing flys and looking out windows. He is interested in outside but has never left the porch. He will come with a litter and food bowls and a bag of food he is currently eating.

These cats are in Carlisle, Ohio too!

Story
We got Merlin as a kitten from a friend. He was the perfect cat until my toddler came along. He had one FIC flare in December 2025 and since then he has not acted like his laidback self again despite fully recovering and having no lingering bladder issues. He has available hiding spaces, cat trees, toys, and he will still lash out at our other cat, pace, yowl, over groom, and scratch at our carpet. Our house is only going to get more chaotic because we’re expecting again in a few months. He loves food, cuddles, and attention. He would thrive in a household of adults or children ages 8+. He does give warning swipes but he’s never overly aggressive with my toddler. Everyone who meets him falls in love and say Merlin is more dog than cat like.

Story
We got Merlin as a kitten in 2021 from a friend. He is neutered and was vaccinated when we got him but have not kept up to date on vaccines. He is an indoor only cat. He was the most loving cat until my toddler came along. He had a FIC flare in December 2025 and has not acted the same laidback self he was since despite have no lingering bladder issues. When my toddler is around he yowls, over grooms, lashes out at my other cat, and paces. We’ve tried cat trees, different hiding spaces, Feliway, and separation. He’s never aggressive to people and he’s never caused harm more than scratches. The separation only caused more stress because he loves being around people. We’re expecting another baby in December so my house is only going to get more chaotic. He would do well in an adult only or a home with children ages 8+. Everyone who meets Merlin falls in love. He’s cuddly, loving, and loves chasing rubber bands or different cat toys.

Story
Lily was found on the streets 4 years ago by someone with a good heart but not a lot of money. She has had a home but it has not been stable or predictable. She deals with anxiety issues. She is VERY treat and food motivated which has caused her to be overweight. I am fostering her for her mom but she REALLY needs to be in a home with no animals and no children. She needs someone patient. She is not going to come around quickly. But if you are consistent with her, show her routine and predictability, she will learn that she is safe. She can be a loving girl and needs someone who wants to give her time to come out of her shell and be herself. She will swat you, if you try to pet her. However on her own time she will rub up on you and lick your fingers. Poor baby is so misunderstood and I would love to find that perfect home for her.
