Story
Sitka (A134739) is a 14-year-old Aussie mix who weighed just over 50lbs at intake!05/24/24 This beautiful, sweet girl is Sitka! Sitka was said to love people, including babies, children and strangers. She LOVES to go on walks! Sitka is said to be kennel trained and housebroken, and she will start to pace when she needs to go outside. Sitka was said to generally mind well in her younger years, but as she has gotten older, her hearing has started to go. She was said to ride well in the car, and was described as being outgoing, friendly and affectionate. Sitka can be picky about the canine company she keeps. She needs time to warm up to other dogs, and she most likely prefers the easier-going kind. Sitka would probably do best in a home that she does not have to share with another dog. She has never been around cats, small animals or livestock, so please keep this in mind if planning to introduce her to any. Sitka knows some basic commands, such as sit and shake! She was given a full wellness exam by our vet, and our vet thinks she is in great health for her age! Sitka does have some areas to keep an eye on, including needing to lose a few pounds and her dental health. Sitka may also be at risk for developing laryngeal paralysis, but she is not showing any serious symptoms at this time. Sitka will be going home with a glucosamine supplement for her joints that was donate by a wonderful member of the community! If you're interested in meeting this sweet ol' girl, please give the shelter a call!May 25, 2024, 10:03 pm
