Story
Pixie (A140975) is an 11-month-old Australian Shepherd mix who weighed 32.8 pounds on intake! 01/26/26 This sweet but shy gal is Pixie! Pixie was surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding a family that could spend more time with her. She is a bit of a nervous girl, but was also described as kind and loving. Pixie was said to do well with babies and children, but tends to be fearful around new people. However, once the connection is made and she decides that you arenâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t so scary, she is said to be very affectionate. Pixie as also described as nervous when meeting new animals. If you do choose to introduce her to new potential friends, we encourage you to make slow, safe, and controlled introductions to help set her up for success. It is also recommended that she attend an obedience class with a certified trainer to continue building her confidence. She is a very smart girl and knows a few commands like sit, stay, shake, and speak. Keeping her mentally stimulated is important! Pixie was also said to be kennel-trained and mostly housebroken (she will go by the door). Please keep in mind that there is always an adjustment period as she gets settled. Pixie is a young girl and looking for someone who will have the time to devote to her. If you are interested in meeting Pixie, please let us know!January 28, 2026, 10:38 pm
