Kaine has had a rough life. He was found as a stray in Potter Valley with bullets all over him!. His finder couldn’t keep him so off to the county shelter he went. After a month in his kennel, he is loosing interest in life and is at THE TOP of the euthanasia list…. Kaine was a volunteer favorite and we have been asked to save him. With no where for him to go we were hopeful that someone would step up and offer foster him. A wonderful community member heard our cry for help! PS We have a part time foster who cannot adopt due to medical issues, we are hoping to find a foster or adopter share mendoshelterpets.org 707-972-9359 Here is what the shelter says about Kaine: “Mixed Breed male, 5 years old and 60 pounds Kaine is friendly, easy going, and likes being around people. He’s very easy to leash up and enjoys going for walks. Kaine knows sit and takes treats gently from your hand. Kaine also has good indoor manners. We know this sweet guy would LOVE a backyard, where he can stretch out and soak in the rays! We got Caesar Dec 2022. He was only 3mos old. So he is about 3yrs old. I'm looking for a home that has experience in training a dog that has I believe a prey drive and chews on things while gone which is reason crate trained.He is infatuated with cats. He has border Collie as main breed according to embark DNA. He is a sweetheart and likes to play and have chew toys. Crate trained without padded bedding. He will chew. He likes reassurance whether going outside or any other time. Once he warms up he will be where u r. He knows few basic commands, sit, wait, bed, enough, no. Needs socialization with other dogs and people. He only knows us. He likes to protect us if something he doesn't recognize he will bark. We had family he stayed away but started to warm up. We rarely have visitors. He sleeps on bed. Once he gets used to other dogs he will play. The traits are in descriptions, I did best I could. Gets carsick maybe anxiety. Will meet 1/2way.
