This dog, as well as several other dogs and puppies, are currently in our program through a special collaboration with Siskiyou County Animal Control.  Due to severe overcrowding and limited resources in the region, many shelters are faced with incredibly difficult decisions. Together, we’re working to give these dogs a better chance by finding them loving homes or transferring them to partner rescues. They’re available for adoption just like our Rescue Ranch pups — but because of the urgency of the situation, they may be transferred quickly. If you're interested, we highly encourage you to act fast — they deserve a loving home, and it could be yours!  When they are at least 8 weeks old, dogs/puppies are given a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian.  Before going home, all dogs will have been dewormed and received all age-appropriate vaccinations for parvo/distemper, and Bordetella. If they are 4 months or older they will also have their rabies vaccination. The leg had to be amputated but Lydia doesn't seem to realize anything is missing and you barely will either! She is a major fetch enthusiast and often outruns all other dogs to get the ball.  Lydia tends to build strong and incredibly unwavering bonds to those she trusts and would do anything for her people. She is currently paired with our long-term deaf resident Rodeo. These two have been attached at the hip since the day they met, almost as if they understand each other's struggles. Red showed up as a stray over a year ago. He loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He is very good at jumping over fences though and can no longer stay with us. He has been an outdoor dog and is not house trained but he is smart and should be easy to train. With his athletic ability and intelligence, he would probably do very well on an agility course. He would do best in a home with someone around most of the day keep him company.
