Story
Meet Penelope (aka Penny) 3-year-old Border Collie mix | Spayed Female Penelope, lovingly called Penny, is a smart, loyal, and people-loving girl who is looking for a fresh start in a home that’s a good fit for her needs. Penny adores people and has never met a stranger she didn’t want to be friends with (though men wearing hats may earn a few cautious barks at first ). She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and does wonderfully staying home alone during the day. At night, she happily settles into her crate and sleeps soundly. She rides well in the car, listens when redirected, and is described as very obedient and eager to please. Penny has lived indoors and truly thrives as a companion dog who is included in daily life. With kids, Penny is affectionate and friendly, but because she’s a bigger, enthusiastic girl, she does best with older or dog-savvy children who can respect her space and energy. She may be a bit pushy with smaller kids if not supervised. Penny generally does well with other dogs, but after a recent stressful incident with a smaller, persistently growly dog, it’s clear she would do best in a home with careful dog introductions or possibly as the only dog. She can be redirected from chasing cats and listens well, but a cat-savvy home would be ideal. The good stuff: Fully vetted & spayed House & crate trained Loves people Obedient and responsive Healthy and well cared for Penny’s current family is even willing to foster her while she waits for the right forever home — a testament to how loved she is. If you’re looking for a devoted, intelligent companion who just needs the right environment to shine, Penny might be your girl Apply to adopt Penelope here:https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=1707539&name=Penelope+ ##1707539##

What a cuddle bug!  Panda is the sweetest little girl! We do believe that she is a border collie mix. She was found alone on the reservation, crawling toward the road and was rescued in that moment thank goodness! Panda will find the nook in your neck, lick you all over with her puppy breath and fall fast asleep. She is the most adorable baby ever! Once Panda is 8 weeks old and has been fully vetted she will be available to adopt. ##2654849##

Story
Baloo is a delightful, energetic 9 year old dog. My wife and I have owned him since he was 1. He loves playing fetch more than anything. He is good with kids and adults alike. He is responsive off leash. Loves the car. He is easy going and would happily crawl into your lap to be pet all day. Despite being 9 he has not slowed down and needs lots of activity. We are sad to be trying to rehome him as he has been a part of our family for 8 years but we have grown and our space has shrunk and we just cant give him the activity and space to roam that he needs. We just had our second kid and we are spread too thinly, but he has been great with our children and, aside from herding them around the house as a boarder collie should, he gets along with them quite well and is highly tolerant of the hair pulling and poking that comes along with young children. He gets along with other dogs no problem. He would do best with an active family that can get him the daily activity he needs.

Story
Surrender Request – Topo Needs a New Home We’ve received a surrender request for Topo, a 5-year-old, 60-lb mixed breed (mostly cattle dog) who was originally adopted from Denkai. His family loves him dearly but has realized he would do best in a home without young children, as they can make him anxious. They’ve made the thoughtful decision to rehome him so he can thrive in a more suitable environment. About Topo:• Male, neutered• Housebroken & leash trained• Rides well in the car• Affectionate, friendly, and very bonded to his people• Healthy, up to date on vet care• Currently on anti-anxiety medication and has worked with a trainer Dog & Cat Socialization:Topo gets along well with many dogs—he especially enjoys playing with submissive or easygoing companions. He can be reactive with reactive dogs, so matching will be important. No known cat interactions noted. ‍‍ Best Home:Topo would do best in a calm home with adults or older kids/teens, and no young children. Current Status:His current family is able to foster him until an appropriate home is found, so he is safe and cared for while we search. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering Topo, please submit an application through Denkai: https://denkaisanctuary.org/adopt ##874073##
