Story
Meet Blackie One look into Blackie’s eyes, and you can feel it… that quiet, gentle soul just waiting to be loved. Blackie is one of eight dogs we recently took in from a hoarding case. Her world was small, unfamiliar, and overwhelming—and her recovery has been slow, but meaningful. She has come as far as she can with us, and now she needs something more… a home. A very special home. Blackie is not a “typical” adoption. She is a heart project. She will need a person who understands that what she needs right now is socialization, not training. Someone who knows how to let a dog set the pace. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not forced. The good news? Once you gain that trust—and we truly believe you will—she is going to blossom. What Blackie Needs: A calm, patient home willing to go at her pace An experienced adopter familiar with shy or undersocialized dogs Slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs (she may do well with the right match) No cats or young children (fast movements are still very scary for her) Blackie cannot be cornered, rushed, or pushed. She needs someone with patience, compassion, and the willingness to meet her where she is—every single day. In return, you’ll get something incredibly special: the chance to watch a dog discover love, safety, and life for the very first time. We will be here every step of the way to guide you, and: A site visit will be required Follow-ups will be part of her journey to ensure success If you feel called to be the person who changes Blackie’s life… please reach out. Apply to adopt: www.denkaisanctuary.org/adopt Because dogs like Blackie don’t just need homes…They need humans who understand them. ##2612039##

Story
Meet Cedar   If you're looking for a puppy with brains, looks, and a little bit of charm, Cedar might be your guy.   This handsome 3-month-old Border Collie/Heeler mix is currently being fostered in Parker, CO, and has been making quite the impression. Cedar is incredibly smart—he's house trained with a good routine, lets his foster know when he needs to go outside, sleeps through the night, and catches on to new things faster than most humans before their morning coffee.   He's great with other dogs, loves kids, and has done wonderfully with his foster's young nieces, who are absolutely obsessed with him. Cedar enjoys toys, loves a game of fetch, and gets very excited about breakfast and dinner—which, honestly, is one of the most relatable things about him.   One of our favorite things about Cedar is how well-balanced he is. He loves to play, loves to snuggle, and takes his naps just as seriously as his adventures.   He's still a growing puppy and will need a family committed to continuing his training and helping him reach his full potential. With his intelligence, sweet nature, and movie-star good looks, we have a feeling he won't be available for long.   Interested in meeting Cedar? Story
Baloo is a delightful, energetic 9 year old dog. My wife and I have owned him since he was 1. He loves playing fetch more than anything. He is good with kids and adults alike. He is responsive off leash. Loves the car. He is easy going and would happily crawl into your lap to be pet all day. We are sad to be trying to rehome him as he has been a part of our family for 8 years but we have grown and our space has shrunk and we just cant give him the activity and space to roam that he needs. We just had our second kid and we are spread too thinly, but he has been great with our children and and is highly tolerant of the hair pulling and poking that comes along with young children. He gets along with other dogs no problem. He would do best with an active family that can get him the daily activity he needs.

Story
Puppy update from the Navajo mine site!   Look at these faces! These adorable babies have been successfully rescued from the Navajo mine site and now they're safe in foster care and absolutely thriving!   These pups are everything you could want in a puppy—playful, goofy, curious, and full of personality. They spend their days wrestling, exploring, chasing toys, and then piling up together for the sweetest naps. Seriously... we don't think we've ever seen a cuter bunch!   While they're loving life in foster, we'd love to start finding their forever families. If you've been thinking about adding a puppy to your family, we can absolutely do a foster-to-adopt while they finish growing and getting ready for adoption.   We'd also love to welcome a few more foster families! Rather than taking the whole litter, we can split them into pairs, so they each have a buddy while making fostering much more manageable.   Interested in fostering or adopting? Fill out an application here: https://denkaisanctuary.org/adopt   These sweet babies have come so far already, and we can't wait to see each of them find the loving homes they deserve. ##2778641##
