Story
Meet Penelope (aka Penny)   At just 3 years old, Penelope — lovingly called Penny — is in the prime of her life and ready to find the person she can devote herself to completely. She’s what we lovingly call a “one-person dog.” When she bonds, she bonds deeply — and that loyalty runs strong.   Because of that deep attachment, Penny will do best in a calm, consistent home without a lot of people coming and going. In busy or unpredictable environments, she can start to feel protective of her person. She isn’t looking for chaos — she’s looking for stability, routine, and someone she can feel safe with.   Penny absolutely loves her people and is affectionate, intelligent, and eager to please. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and does wonderfully staying home alone during the day. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, rides well in the car, and is very responsive to direction. She thrives when she knows what’s expected of her.   With children, Penny is friendly but can be enthusiastic and a bit pushy due to her size, so a home with older, respectful kids or adults only would be the best fit.   When it comes to other dogs, Penny needs slow, thoughtful introductions before being considered friends. She does not appreciate pushy or overly assertive dogs in her space. With proper boundaries and respectful energy, she can coexist — but she may also truly shine as the only dog in the home where she doesn’t feel the need to manage her surroundings.   The good stuff: Spayed & up to date on vet care House & crate trained Deeply loyal and affectionate Smart and obedient Thrives with routine and clear structure   Penny’s current family cares about her deeply and is willing to foster her while we search for the right match. We are committed to finding her a home where she can feel secure and understood.   She won’t be the right fit for every household — but for the person looking for a devoted, steady companion, Penny will be an incredible best friend.   Apply to adopt Penelope here: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=1707539&name=Penelope+ ##1707539##

Story
Baloo is a delightful, energetic 9 year old dog. My wife and I have owned him since he was 1. He loves playing fetch more than anything. He is good with kids and adults alike. He is responsive off leash. Loves the car. He is easy going and would happily crawl into your lap to be pet all day. We are sad to be trying to rehome him as he has been a part of our family for 8 years but we have grown and our space has shrunk and we just cant give him the activity and space to roam that he needs. We just had our second kid and we are spread too thinly, but he has been great with our children and and is highly tolerant of the hair pulling and poking that comes along with young children. He gets along with other dogs no problem. He would do best with an active family that can get him the daily activity he needs.

Story
Surrender Request – Topo Needs a New Home We’ve received a surrender request for Topo, a 5-year-old, 60-lb mixed breed (mostly cattle dog) who was originally adopted from Denkai. His family loves him dearly but has realized he would do best in a home without young children, as they can make him anxious. They’ve made the thoughtful decision to rehome him so he can thrive in a more suitable environment. About Topo:• Male, neutered• Housebroken & leash trained• Rides well in the car• Affectionate, friendly, and very bonded to his people• Healthy, up to date on vet care• Currently on anti-anxiety medication and has worked with a trainer Dog & Cat Socialization:Topo gets along well with many dogs—he especially enjoys playing with submissive or easygoing companions. He can be reactive with reactive dogs, so matching will be important. No known cat interactions noted. ‍‍ Best Home:Topo would do best in a calm home with adults or older kids/teens, and no young children. Current Status:His current family is able to foster him until an appropriate home is found, so he is safe and cared for while we search. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering Topo, please submit an application through Denkai: https://denkaisanctuary.org/adopt ##874073##
