Story
Vixen was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. She will be available to meet starting 1/24 Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2636224##

Story
Kalanei is a shy girl who is looking for a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. She has not had exposure to people outside of her previous owner and has lived with her littermates, so new situations and strangers can feel overwhelming for her. She is noted to be potty trained and is used to going in and out of the home, but she has never been leash trained or left her property before. Because she has not lived with children and is fearful, a quiet, adult-only home would be the best fit. With time, gentle guidance, and a patient adopter willing to go slow, Kalanei has the potential to gain confidence and feel safe in her new environment.

Story
Meet Jennings, the sweet, spirited, and endlessly playful pup who’s ready to steal your heart! This energetic boy has a story as unique as his personality: he was originally found in Texas… on a middle school property! Apparently, the school had a strict “no dogs allowed” policy—Jennings, of course, had no idea and was just trying to enroll in recess. Who could blame him? Jennings is a superstar on a leash, friendly to everyone he meets, and loves to play like there’s no tomorrow. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a romp at the dog park, or an adventurous hike, he’s all in—and when the zoomies finally wear off, he’s the ultimate snuggle bug. If you’re looking for a loyal play partner, adventure buddy, and cozy companion all wrapped into one adorable package, Jennings is the boy for you!

Story
I first found Zoe at a humane society when she was about 1yo. She crawled right up into my lap as soon as I sat down & that was it, she was coming home. Zoe is an 8yo Border Collie/McNab MIX; McNab wasnt listed. She is one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs Ive ever met in my 38 years. Even people with a fear of dogs have liked her. She loves to snuggle & is very affectionate. She is an extremely obedient listener if she knows the command & rules, and be ready, she is SO SMART! Zoe is eager to learn & does so quickly. I trained her to stop when I stop in one day. She’s also very sensitive; you can’t raise your voice at her. If she hears you crying, she will come over & try to love on you! Border Collies love activity & having a task that can be rewarded. Her personality does include that but it’s not a huge drive. My hope is that her new home will have land for her to run, play & explore. She is great with other sweet animals, preferring a sibling over being alone, but not required.
