Story
Rosey hasn't been able to catch a break we hope finnally we can give her just that! She needed a savior she found herself picked up as a stray / wandering dog in San Antonio Texas. She was taken to a high kill shelter by animal control. She ended up getting pulled by a rescue nearly a year ago. She was dropped off at a boarding facility and abandoned by that rescue with 29 other dogs. The boarding facility was understaffed and under funded. The dogs in their care weren't getting what they needed and acs was recalled to pick them up. All 30 dogs including Rosey were going to be euthanized. Luckily we had the opportunity to help so we did just that. We saved Rosey and another dog named Jerry from meeting that unfortunate fate.   Rosey loves other dogs, she's good on a leash and adores children. She is mild energy. She would fit great with any life style.   ##2035409##

Story
Notes - Very sweet puppy, seeks affection, very small in size and loves being around other dogs She is so tiny and loves belly rubs, eager to meet new people and does amazing everywhere she goes. Kelly was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2034358##

Good with dogs,
Story
Lacey is a 7 month old, micro-border collie, tipping the scales at just 22 lbs! She is affectionate, confident, and great with other dogs. She loves to play and she self-entertains well. She has a border collie’s hard wired intuition and tries hard to anticipate what you want. She takes treats nicely, gives great kisses and her flowing locks are truly stunning! She was co-kenneled with another female dog and shares space, food, water and attention well. This girl is a catch! **Just arrived 4/22 - Will need more time to settle in but accepting applications now She is quite shy right now so moving slow and allowing her to be comfortable is our focus at this time ALL POSO DOGS COME FULLY VETTED AND WITH 2 FREE DOG TRAINING SESSIONS

Story
I joined the Navy and I cannot bring my dogs with me. This is my second dog Kuzya. I got him as a puppy and I have all the information you may need on him. He is a mutt (Border Collie, Great Pyrenees, and GSD). His birthday is Oct. 17, 2020. He is good with dogs, but BAD with cats. He chases them and tries to bite them. He did not grow up with cats. He loves and is good with children, especially special needs children. Despite having his ears and tail pulled, he has not once shown anything but compassion to special needs children. This is a high energy and active dog. Needs anywhere between 30 mins to 2 hours of exercise a day, otherwise he will be bouncing off your walls.
