Story
Meet Arnold ! He is a young pup with a heart full of love and energy to spare. He’s a goofy, wiggly boy who is still very much a puppy, curious and on the move. Despite that, he can also lounge and cuddle up really nicely in the house! He has some classic herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s becoming increasingly more polite and respectful in the home. He is dog friendly and would do well with another dog in the house. He will make an awesome companion for someone active and willing to provide some guidance and consistency. He is shy with new people but is working on growing confidence in his foster home with a dog trainer. He can be neutral and ignore other people and dogs very well! He really likes to follow his person around and can be a clingy boy, so he’s learning to be okay on his own, too. He loves pets and melts for belly scratches. Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

Story
Polly Pocket may be small in name, but her heart is full of big love! This sweet girl’s favorite place to be is right next to her people—better yet, climbing gently into your lap for cuddles and affection. She thrives on attention and happily soaks up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Polly Pocket also enjoys spending time with her dog friends and would do well in a home with another friendly pup or a family ready to include her in daily fun. Her gentle, affectionate personality makes her a wonderful companion, and she would be a great fit for a family with kids over 7 years old who can share in her cuddle time and playtime alike. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal little shadow who will happily snuggle her way into your heart, Polly Pocket is ready to meet you!

Story
Hi I'm Shelby! I'm bonded with my brother, Austin. We landed at the county shelter when one of our humans passed away and the family was unable to care for us. Luckily, GRHS quickly swooped in and now we are crashing on a temp foster's couch. (We are still looking for a foster home!) We are the best houseguests and perfect gentlemen! We LOVE our crates and were crate trained in our previous home. We also LOVE to play outside (Fetch is LIFE!) and are learning how to use a dog door. We love cuddling with our humans, playing fetch, and cuddling some more. We get along great with the other friendly dogs in our foster home and don't seem to mind the kitty who roams around when we are sleeping. We have GREAT recall, are incredibly well trained, and our manners will blow you away! Although we are middle-aged (8yo) and slightly frosted, we would love to have an active family! Someone who likes to take us on daily walks or even occasional hikes would be wonderful! As Border Collies, we tend to be quite active until our super senior years. Staying active will keep us young! We haven't had too much experience being in a car, so we tend to get a little nervous (We just shake a little), but we can definitely warm up to being adventure dogs if we are exposed to it more often! In the home, we are pretty mellow and like to lounge - especially after we've had our daily walk! At this time, these bonded boys will not be attending adoption events as they have been a little nervous in busy situations. Please submit an adoption application and we will be sure to have their foster family reach out to schedule a meet and greet! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.
