He's happy! He loves treats! He loves people! He likes dogs! Due to all of this, we know why you would immediately want to drop everything and come to see this darling, and we'd love for you (and any kids and dogs) to come see him too! We do recommend an active owner because he's bubbling over with energy and could really do with an exercise buddy--so why not come and see how happy he'd be to run with you?July 26, 2024, 9:12 pm

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Bissell, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Our hearts break for Bissell, and we vowed to find him the home that he deserves. This was an OWNED dog. Bissell was adopted from the New Mexico shelter that we work with a year ago, with a full body of hair. After his adopter rehomed him a month later to a man on facebook, this poor guy clearly was not properly cared for. Fortunately for him, he was surrendered to the same shelter before he could get in any worse shape. He's been neglected, let down, failed, and uncomfortable for who knows how long. Bissell now has a ticket to Colorado to get the love, care, and compassion that he deserves. Bissell clearly has some dermatitis. Our assumption is his "owner" kept him outside for the year he was with him. Bissell has been fully vetted and is being treated for his hair loss. With time, a bit of medication & medicated baths (that he has already received), and good nutrition, we know that Bissell will be looking good again soon! When we heard Bissell's story, and saw his old photos vs his new photos, we couldn't help but tear up a bit. Bissell is such a good dog, who didn't deserve this! He is so friendly with all people, great with other dogs, potty trained, and even knows how to "sit" and "shake". Bissell is believed to be a Border Collie / Lab mix. He is 3 and a half years old, and 46 lbs. Farfel's Rescue and our New Mexico rescue partners would love to see Bissell in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Bissell in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Bissell has been fully vetted, and he is in great health, up to date on his shots, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Rosemary is a playful, sweet, affectionate girl excited to find her forever home! This 3-year-old, 40-pound border collie mix is the perfect size to join you for adventures, snuggles, and a snack or seven. Rosie loves playtime and long walks as much as she loves cuddles on the couch and naps under your desk. Whatever her people are doing, Rosemary wants to be part of it! Rosemary is house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps through the night. She is a smart and food-motivated girl who has mastered many key commands and walks well on leash (as long as she gets some breaks to smell the neighborhood happenings!). She loves other dogs and would do well either alone or with doggie siblings who are on the submissive side. When meeting new people, Rosemary prefers that everyone minds their manners and says hello before entering her home. But with a few minutes of patience and some treats, Rosemary is happy to receive pets, and soon enough, she will stick to you like glue and offer lots of kisses! Winning her trust is so rewarding because Rosemary is the most affectionate and loyal girl to her people.  Rosemary is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, heartworm-negative, and already waiting at the door for you to come take her on her next adventure! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##1815459##
