Story
Warning: Ziggy is a cuddler. He wants to be in your lap and on top of you! (No one tell him that he's 35 lbs) Ziggy is probably 2-4 years old and a collie and lab mix. He is definitely a velcro dog. Do you need a shadow? Ziggy just wants to please and be called a good boy. He is totally house trained and is fine being left at home out of the crate. He will try to hug you and give you kisses to greet you every time you return. Ziggy is a super smart boy. He is dying to learn commands. We are currently working on sit and learning exactly how long the leash is. But he picked up the dog door in under an hour. Ziggy's second favorite thing is rough housing with his foster dog siblings. Play, play, play all day then some quality belly rubs and play some more... Ziggy wants to go for a 10 mile hike and then spend all night on the couch watching movies/ cuddling. If he can get one french fry, that's grand. If not, he still loves you forever. ##2722664##

Story
Lyra is a sweet, affectionate lady who adores being close to her people. If you’re sitting, she’s probably leaning in for pets; if you’re standing, she’s waiting for you to notice her soft gaze. She’s a smart girl who already knows her basic cues and can even offer a charming shake with both paws. Lyra may enjoy having another friendly dog in the home, but what she wants most is a family who will love her as much as she loves them.

Story
It's w/ heavy heart I put my beloved Cosmo or Cosmonaut up for adoption. He is an awesome dog. Life threw a curve. I lost wife to cancer last year. I will travel now and it is not fair to leave him for long periods of time. We got Cosmo as puppy. I wanted dog that could also be a form of security for our family. He is border collie/blue healer mix. Very, very smart. But he is a herder. He has energy for days. Each day at 4pm he will carry his harness to me to go exercise. We go to dog park and he gets his fill of ball chasing. He learned to carry two balls. He is not very good at sharing the balls I usually take 3 with me. When my wife was diagnosed with cancer, she had to sleep upright position on a couch. Cosmo stayed w/ her the entire time. I want him to have a good home. He loves water. Goes crazy for laser pointer. Good with other dogs but more alpha. Loves to cuddle and will sleep close. Good traveler. He is 7. Weighs 75lbs. Good security, very alert. Needs a good home.

Story
Tilly is  the sweetest, gentlest personality. She can be a little shy when meeting new people or dogs, but once she feels comfortable, her loving nature really shines through.   She absolutely loves to cuddle, play, and be close to her people. Tilly is also incredibly smart and eager to learn — in less than a week in foster care, she has already learned “sit,” “stay,” and “lay down”!   Tilly is going to grow into an amazing companion. She would thrive in a home that can continue building her confidence while giving her plenty of affection, playtime, and opportunities to learn. Whoever adopts Tilly is going to be very lucky to have such a sweet and special pup in their life. ##2732284##

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Carl #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Carl | 4 1/2-month-old Border Collie mix | Adventure buddy meets cuddle bug Carl is the total package: smart, affectionate, playful, and always ready for either an outdoor adventure or a movie marathon on the couch. This handsome black-and-white Border Collie mix is 4 1/2 months old, around 22 pounds, and full of personality. He loves hiking, walks, toys, chew bones, belly rubs, and being as close to his people as possible. If you’re petting him, he’s happy. Carl is incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. He already knows commands like sit, stay, down, come, leave it, off, and no, and his recall is especially impressive for a puppy his age. He picks up new words quickly and is highly motivated by food, toys, and affection. He’s also crate trained, sleeps through the night, and does beautifully when left home alone, whether by himself or with other dogs. He gets along well with other dogs, enjoys children, and is friendly with everyone he meets. While he loves having dog friends around, he’d also likely do well as an only dog in a home where he gets plenty of love and activity. Like many puppies, he’s still working on a few things, including jumping up, taking treats too enthusiastically, and being a little protective of special toys around other dogs. Carl is almost fully potty trained and will reliably use a potty pad if he needs to go indoors. One quirky thing about him: he’s still a little nervous about going into the backyard by himself and prefers having his humans accompany him outside. He has no issues pottying on walks or in the front yard and continues building confidence every day. His ideal home would be an active family ready for all the fun that comes with a young, energetic, and very smart puppy. In return, Carl will provide endless affection, entertainment, and companionship — preferably while curled up under the blankets beside you.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
