Story
Linda is a gentle, one-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 37–40 pounds. This sweet girl has a soft, sensitive soul and a story of resilience that makes her all the more special. She was found in an isolated area in heartbreaking condition—malnourished, covered in fleas and ticks, and struggling with painful skin issues. A kind-hearted gentleman discovered her curled up in a ditch at the end of his gravel drive. He took her in, got her the medical care she desperately needed, and showed her love and kindness until she was ready to find a rescue. Thanks to him, Linda got a second chance at life. Because of her past, Linda is very shy and submissive. It took her about six months in foster care before she felt safe enough to accept gentle pets without cowering. She’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place—but she’s making progress every day. One thing Linda does love is other dogs! She lights up when she has a canine friend around and happily follows their lead. She’ll need a home with a playful, confident dog who can help guide her and show her the ropes. Linda is housebroken and thrives in a consistent, calm environment. She’s not yet comfortable walking on a leash and will flatten to the ground when one is put on, so she’ll need a secure, fenced yard where she can safely explore and play. Linda is looking for a patient, compassionate home that will give her the time and understanding she needs to fully come out of her shell. In return, you’ll get to watch a truly special dog continue her journey from surviving to thriving.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Linda’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Meet Holland — the comeback kid with the wiggliest butt in town.     This medium‑energy, medium‑size‑when‑grown pup is equal parts silly, sweet, and determined. Holland started life outdoors and had a rough go of it — malnourished, underweight, bowlegged, battling every worm imaginable, a double ear infection, a flea takeover, and the heartbreak of losing many siblings. But don’t let his past fool you. Holland decided he’s a thriving puppy era kind of guy now.   Today, Holland is all about the good stuff: treats, playtime, and other dogs (seriously, he thinks every dog is his new best friend). He’s crate trained, and while potty training is still a work in progress, he’s trying hard and celebrates every success like he just won a gold medal.   Holland’s vibe is “fun but not chaotic.” He’ll romp, wrestle, and trot, then plop for snuggles like he’s auditioning for a role as your favorite couch potato.   He’s looking for a family who loves a charming, resilient, dog‑loving boy with a big heart and an even bigger future. Holland survived the hard part — now he’s ready for the happy part.   If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Hi, I’m Dana! 🐾 I’m a happy 1-year-old Terrier mix (with a little scruffy terrier charm and herding dog energy) and I weigh about 40 pounds. I’ve got this cute black-and-white coat, a big smile, and the softest ears that flop when I get excited! I’m a sweet, playful, and gentle girl, though I can be a little shy when I first meet new people. Give me some time, patience, and kindness and I’ll quickly become your biggest fan. I get along really well with other dogs and would love to have a furry sibling to play with — it helps me feel more confident and brings out my silly, bouncy side! I’m already pretty smart and doing great with house training. I know how to use the dog door like a pro, and I’m eager to learn more. I’d thrive with a family who will keep teaching me new things, help me get better on the leash, and gently build my confidence in new situations. I’m looking for an active family that will take me on adventures, give me lots of playtime, and shower me with love and positive guidance. In return, I’ll give you my whole heart — endless loyalty, cuddles, and a lifetime of being your best little shadow and adventure buddy. If you’re ready for a sweet young dog who’s excited to grow and blossom with you, I’d love to come home and be your girl!
