Hi everyone!! I'm Chucky and I love doing anything with my human. From car rides, the pet store, to just watching TV -- I want to do it all with you. I love to cuddle with you at the end of the day. I will even give you a hug if you'll let me. I love treats and toys. I am easily entertained. I am house trained and love other dogs. Cats are not a problem for me; I love them just the same. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Meet Marilyn. She is crashing with me for a bit. Marilyn’s owner passed away and she ended up at AC. She is a slower to warm up dog but once she does, oh my gosh, what a love! Marilyn is dog and cat friendly and did okay at the vet with patience and affection. Staff at PCAPs knows we love the scared and shy sweet babies so we are happy to help! (Born Nov 2024)

We’ve had Cosmo for 4 years and have absolutely loved having him but with our growing family (had baby 2 months ago) we are sad to say he will not longer fit our family. We rescued Cosmo from anti cruelty society 4 years ago and they thought he was about 8 months old at the time. He is a Border Collie mix. We had one other dog at the time when we rescued him and they got along well until we lost our other dog to cancer almost 2 years ago. Cosmo does not have a bite history but he does come with behavioral issues and takes management. We have been working with a trainer all 4 years and got him into agility a year ago where he has been thriving. He struggles with resource guarding and has stranger danger. He growls when he feels uncomfortable or unsafe. He has fear of other dogs - other than our other dog we had, we avoiding engaging with dogs at the dog park or on walks due to his reactivity. He is “finicky” and can be difficult but when you earn his trust - he is incredibly lovable.

Born: April 20, 2025 I am seeking my forever home! Adoption Donation: $600 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble.
