Story
Do you like dogs more than people? Juno does too! Juno is a 1-year-old, 42-pound Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix who is happiest when he has other dogs to play with. He absolutely loves canine companionship and would thrive in a home with a friendly, playful dog who can be his buddy. Juno didn't get the start in life he deserved. He was mistreated and eventually dumped in a remote area, left to fend for himself. Because of his past, Juno is understandably cautious around people he doesn't know. However, he is very comfortable with the people he knows and sees regularly. Once he knows you, he becomes much more relaxed and happy. Juno would do best in a quiet, low-key home with one person. He would prefer a home without children. The quick, unpredictable movements of young kids are scary for him, and he needs a calm environment where he can feel safe and secure. He isn't looking for a busy household or a revolving door of visitors. He wants a peaceful home, a person he can trust, and a dog friend to keep him company. And while Juno may be a little cautious about people, he is definitely not shy about showing off his athletic abilities! This boy is energetic, agile, and loves to play. He has some seriously impressive fetching skills and would happily demonstrate them for you. He also walks well on a leash, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys getting outside with their dog. Juno is housetrained and has good house manners. He does not require a kennel and is free to roam the house when his foster mom is away. He has earned that freedom and enjoys relaxing in the comforts of home. His new home will need a physically fenced yard where he can safely run, play, explore, and show off those athletic skills. A fenced yard will give Juno the freedom to get his zoomies out, chase a ball, and enjoy some of his favorite activities safely. Juno's ideal family will understand that trust takes time. He doesn't need someone who expects him to love everyone he meets. He needs someone who will respect his boundaries, let him build relationships at his own pace, and celebrate the moments when he chooses to trust. Give Juno a peaceful home, a patient person, a canine friend, a fenced yard, and a few good games of fetch, and he has everything he needs to thrive. If your idea of a perfect dog is an athletic, playful guy who prefers dogs over people, enjoys a good game of fetch, and wants a quiet life with his favorite person, Juno might be your guy. Juno is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. If you’d like to meet Juno, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Juno you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

There’s just something about Loki’s smile—you can’t help but feel it’s real. This handsome Border Collie/Retriever mix has a long, thick black coat and a personality that’s just as full as it looks.Loki is bursting with energy and joy. More than anything, Loki just wants to be close to his people and will happily stick by your side through whatever the day brings. He came to us as a stray alongside Thor, and it’s clear both boys were well cared for before arriving here. Loki has adjusted well and continues to show us just how loving and outgoing he is.If you’re looking for a high-energy, affectionate companion who will keep life fun and full of love, Loki might be your perfect match. Our dog adoption fee is $150 and includes their spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives.
