HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Busy girl who is always walking around, following people and checking things out, but once she is tired, she likes to sit on her foster family's lap or beside them and snuggle - Very smart - knows her name now and is learning sit and shake; food-motivated if you have the right treat! - 99% potty trained in her foster home, has had no accidents in her crate and goes potty outside shortly after being taken out; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Goes into her crate very nicely and is quiet in there both when her family leaves and at night - Can be vocal when first meeting new people, but she is quick to warm up; did well visiting her foster family's neighbors recently - they let her take things at her own pace, and she let everyone meet her and pet her without barking once - Can also be vocal around other things that make her uncomfortable, like people's arms making fast/big movements and the vacuum cleaner- Gets along very well with all the dogs in her foster home - she plays/wrestles with the ones that like that and leaves the ones who don't alone; may enjoy and benefit from having a dog friend in her new home - May do best in a free-standing home vs. an apartment or attached-living situation because of the high-traffic nature of attached-living complexes and her discomfort with people she doesn't know The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
