Meet Ollie, a happy-go-lucky boy with a goofy personality and a heart full of adventure! This handsome guy is always ready to explore the world around him, whether that means heading out for a walk, checking out new sights and smells, or simply bouncing around with excitement by your side. Ollie is affectionate, intelligent, and curious, and he loves being included in whatever his people are doing. Ollie already knows “sit,” takes treats nicely, and walks well on a leash. Like many energetic young dogs, he can sometimes forget his manners when he gets excited, but his eagerness to learn and food motivation make him a great candidate for continued training. He keeps his kennel clean and has done well with kids of all ages. Shelter life has been a little stressful for Ollie, and he can be anxious or skittish in new situations. Because of this, he will thrive in a home that can provide structure, routine, patience, and daily exercise to help him build confidence and settle in comfortably. Ollie can also be selective with other dogs, so proper introductions will be important. We believe as he settles back into home life this will get better with time. With his adorable fluffy ears, silky coat, and lovable personality, Ollie is sure to steal hearts wherever he goes. Don't let the name fool you—he isn't looking for world domination or a secret recipe. He’s just looking for a cozy home and a family to call his own. I'm on stray hold until 4/28/26. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2719214##

"She ran calling "WILD.....FIRE"!! That is a haunting song.... I promise, though..I am not a HAUNTER!! But I may love to run around and around and AROUND :) I am a puppy! I am so sweet and cuddly, when i finish running around ;) I have plenty of energy so you HAVE to be ready to burn it off with mental and physical exercise. I am SMART too! Teach me who you want me to be and I will learn! I was found with 4 siblings living (dumped) at the Home Depot...but it was a LUCKY BREAK, cause we were seen by the husband of a rescuer and we got SAVED! Now I am in my foster home and learning the "ropes" ;) Potty training is getting better every day, I mean our foster mom takes us out often for potty control and I am really working hard to wait for the next jaunt outside! I also am crate training too! I don't like to pee or poop where I sleep- as long as I don't eat right before bed and go outside as soon as I wake up I am doing great!! I seriously am ready for my family, I LOVE to play and am great with all dogs big, small, old or babies. AND i have one half BLUE EYE!! The better to see you with, my new family! :) ADOPT ME SOON!! Bethany is a 4.5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a bright mind and an even brighter personality. True to her herding breed roots, she’s incredibly intelligent, active, and always ready for her next adventure. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or learning something new, Bethany thrives when she has both mental and physical stimulation. She’s a gentle and affectionate girl who loves people and isn’t shy about making new friends—strangers included! Bethany gets along well with both small and large dogs and does well with older kids, making her a great addition to many families. She’s also a fantastic travel buddy who doesn’t mind car rides at all. Bethany is both potty-trained and crate-trained, with good house manners—she doesn’t dig and generally knows how to behave indoors. That said, she prefers not to be left in her crate for long periods and would do best in a home where she can be part of the daily action. She’s currently working on her leash skills, as she can pull and gets distracted by things like bikes or skateboards, so continued training will help her shine even more. She’s alert and will bark when someone is at the door—and sometimes more than necessary—so she may need guidance to manage her vocal tendencies. Bethany also has a more dominant personality and would benefit from a confident, experienced owner who can provide structure and consistency. Because of her strong instincts, Bethany is not a good fit for a home with small animals. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with fun, Bethany might just be your perfect match!
