Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LOVE BUG hails from the Northern community of Poplar Hill and came south with her brother, Cuddle Bear, to find her forever home. She’s received her first and second sets of vaccines, a microchip, dewormer and has been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. The “Valentines Duo” were part of a litter of 6 but this rescue just received the 2 of them. They were found all alone with no mum so her breeds and the size she’ll grow to be is just an educated guess based on what she looks like. Her brother looks like a Shepherd/Husky so we believe both of those breeds are in her too. We also don’t know the size she’ll grow to be as without knowing her parents, we have know idea how big she’ll grow to be. She certainly lives up to her name and she looks bed to be loved and cuddled. She loves her hoomans and follows them around everywhere. As well as being a loving girl, she’s also a typical active little puppy who loves to run around and chew on her teething toys.  CUDDLE BEAR is crate trained and she sleeps all night in it and she’ll also nap in it during the daytime. House training is going really well and she will cry to go outside for a bathroom break. She’ll have the odd accident still if the signs are missed that she needs to go outside so it is still a work in progress for her. She’s just started to go on walks and she is now learning that she can go to the bathroom while outside on walks too. Walking sometimes can be a bit slow as she loves to sniff around and investigate everything she sees. She’s very well mannered at meal times and does “sit” nicely for them and she’ll also take her treats “gentle.” LOVE BUG’s ideal family would be an active one who loves the outdoors and to go on hikes and walks in the woods. She does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for her. She’ll do well in a home with another dog as she’s fostered with one in her foster home and they get along very well together. Seeing as she’s never met a cat and if one resides in her adoptive home we strongly recommend a slow, monitored introduction while she’s leashed for the first few times they meet or interact. She should do well as an only pet in the home provided she’s not left alone for long periods of time and definitely not crated for more than a few hours during the day. Children should be aged 6yrs and up plus be loving, gentle and kind towards animals. She does require a fenced-in yard so she can be kept safe while she has a run around and play outside.  LOVE BUG, like all puppies are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to take her for puppy/obedience training to help her to become the best girl possible. Her spay is included in her adoption fee and her adopter must be in agreement to have her spayed by the time she’s 6 months of age. The surgery will be at the Barrie SPCA but you can use your own vet and we’ll reimburse you what we would’ve paid for it there. In order for the rescue to do so we need the spay requirements to still be followed plus a copy of the procedure invoice and a picture of  her (preferably in a onsie or cone) in order to do the reimbursement. We do post the picture on our fb page along with other pets that were “fixed” in the same week.  If LOVE BUG sounds like She’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet her.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2026, 1:57 pm
