I didn’t know much about the world outside of those walls, and everything around me felt unfamiliar. Then one day, I was finally brought somewhere safe. For the first time, I began to experience gentle care, quiet comfort, and freedom to simply be myself. Now I’m slowly discovering how nice life can be—soft beds, kind hands, and peaceful days. There’s still so much I’m learning, but I’m ready for a brighter chapter ahead.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Colin. I may seem a little shy when we first meet, but it doesn’t take long before my affectionate side starts to show. Once I feel comfortable, I become incredibly loving and happily stay close, always hoping for a few more pets and gentle attention from my favorite people. People often notice my soft, elegant appearance and my sweet little habits—especially the way I gently place my paw into your hand when asking for affection. It’s my own quiet way of connecting and showing trust. Beneath my fluffy, charming looks is a warm-hearted dog who simply enjoys being loved and included. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who brings both comfort and joyful companionship into everyday life, I would be so happy to stay by your side.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up—especially if treats are involved. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept gentle touch and quickly begin showing my affectionate side. When I truly trust someone, I’ll roll over to share my belly and enjoy those sweet, quiet moments together. I’m also comfortable being picked up, which helps me feel safe and close to my people. · With Dogs: I’m polite and calm when meeting unfamiliar dogs, usually greeting them briefly before going on my way rather than turning it into playtime. Very high-energy dogs can feel a little overwhelming to me, so I tend to prefer quieter, more relaxed company and even if another dog behaves rudely, I’d rather avoid conflict and simply move away. When I’m with my person, I’m often more focused on staying close to them than paying much attention to the dogs around me. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring at a relaxed, comfortable pace, then settling down peacefully once I’ve had my fun. Walks are one of my strengths—I move calmly on leash, stay nicely connected to my person, and naturally follow along with ease, making me a lovely companion for everyday outings.   TRAINING & HABITS I have a calm, easygoing nature and feel comfortable sharing my space, even around food. Meet Hanni   • Name: Hanni • Age: 2 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Border Collie Mix • Color: Black & White • Weight: 13 kg • Height (shoulder): 45 cm   Rescue Story In February 2025, Hanni and another dog were abandoned at a slaughterhouse by their owner. After the facility shut down, they were transferred to a municipal shelter. Hanni was rescued in March 2025 and has been preparing for her forever home ever since.   ‍‍ Social with People Hanni is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention without hesitation. She enjoys being held, shows her belly once comfortable, and loves physical affection.   She has been gentle with children around 13 years old, though she has not been tested with infants or toddlers.   In unfamiliar environments such as the vet, she may become nervous and resist handling—especially around sensitive areas like her hindquarters. However, in her foster home, she does very well with grooming, baths, nail trims, and daily care routines.   She loves interactive play with people, including tug and fetch, and truly thrives on human companionship.   Social with Other Dogs Hanni is curious and interested in other dogs, often wanting to approach and greet them during walks. She is currently learning to wait and practice better leash manners.   Because she can be a bit forward, she may come across as overly enthusiastic or “rude” to some dogs. She can be pushy with smaller dogs, so supervision is important. With larger dogs, she tends to be more respectful.   Once comfortable in an open environment, she plays well and currently coexists nicely with her foster dog. However, if provoked, she may engage in conflict, so careful introductions to new dogs are recommended.   With Cats Hanni shows curiosity toward cats during walks but follows her handler well when redirected. She may try to chase birds.   Energy Level As a Border Collie mix, Hanni has a higher-than-average energy level. She benefits greatly from regular outdoor exercise and mental stimulation such as training, games, or enrichment activities.   ‍ Walking & Exercise Hanni is currently working on loose-leash walking. She tends to pull, especially when excited or when she sees other dogs. She enjoys running more than slow walks and may vocalize (bark or make sounds) when excited.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Eats well with no picky habits • Crate trained (eats and rests comfortably in crate) • Travels well, including long car rides • Rarely barks, but may bark when playing or seeking attention • Does not bark at visitors   Training Hanni knows: Sit Down Stay Paw Speak House (crate command)   She is smart, eager to engage, and will thrive with continued training and structure.   Ideal Home Hanni would do best with an active adopter who can match her energy and provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. They took me in and gave me a safe place to stay, even if it was only temporary. But they knew I needed more help, so they reached out and that’s how I got my chance. I’m still learning about this new life, but I’m ready to find a place where I truly belong.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a classic Border Collie at heart—full of energy, curiosity, and always ready to move. When I’m outside, I come alive. Running, exploring, and staying busy is my favorite thing, so don’t expect me to sit still for long! Sometimes I get so excited that I can be a bit much for my dog friends, especially the calmer ones—but I’m just having fun and living in the moment. That said, I do know how to switch it off. In my kennel, I’m surprisingly quiet and settled. It’s like I have two modes: zoomies outside, peaceful rest inside. I tend to mirror the energy around me. If I’m with calm dogs, I can relax alongside them. But if someone’s excited, I’ll happily join in the fun. I’m still learning balance, but I’m getting better every day. I may be an active, spirited dog, but with the right guidance and a patient heart, I’ll be an incredibly fun and loyal companion who keeps life anything but boring.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a very affectionate dog—I don’t just love the people I know, I’m also happy to walk right up to new people, lean in for cuddles, and let them pet me right away. I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, so I may need a gentle and thoughtful introduction. · With Dogs: With smaller dogs, I’m relaxed and friendly, and I usually enjoy their company. I can feel a little unsure around dogs that are bigger than me—they make me a bit nervous sometimes. If another dog comes on too strong or tries to provoke me, I might react, so I’d do best with slow, careful introductions when meeting new dogs. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have high energy level – I’ve got a lot of energy and love to stay on the move—sitting still isn’t really my thing! I’m happiest when I get plenty of outdoor time to run, explore, and burn it all off. Once I’ve had enough activity, though, I can settle down and rest nicely. On walks, I can get a bit eager and pull on the leash, but I do enjoy following my person and staying connected with them.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m gentle with people when it comes to food—I don’t feel the need to guard it. But if another dog comes too close while I’m eating, I might give a little growl to let them know I’d like my space. When there’s something I want, I’m not shy about speaking up—I’ll let you know with a little bark. I settle down nicely in my kennel and stay calm once I’m inside. I’m also used to doing my business outdoors, so I prefer going potty outside.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself.
