Story
Eden / Female / 2 Years / 60 lbs / Border Collie-Black Lab Mix / Good with Dogs / Good with Kids / Unknown with Cats / From Mississauga According to her foster momma, Eden is a “perfectly polite angel.” Unless you’re her stuffie, then she’ll tear out your guts and eat it. But beyond this one curious quirk, Eden is the perfect dog and would be the perfect addition to almost any home. As a two-year-old border collie mix, Eden has energy to spare. She’s playful, affectionate, and expressive, but has just a splash of timidness that makes her easy to walk despite her size. She’s in her happy place when she’s in her bed chewing on her many toys, or when she’s out exploring the world. When it’s time for cuddles, she’ll gently place her head in your lap and look up with those big puppy-dog eyes. She’s shy with strangers, both dogs and people, but she’s always curious about newcomers, and she quickly warms up when given a positive response. She loves to play with other dogs she’s gotten to know, and the perfect home for her might include another furry friend to help her burn off some of that energy. Otherwise, dog-savvy children would be a good match for her playfulness. At 60 lbs, Eden is a little big to be cooped up in a tiny apartment. Unless you live near a decent-sized dog park, a home with a backyard is a better fit for Eden. Two good 30-minute walks are essential for Eden’s energy level. She takes walks with excited enthusiasm, but she doesn’t try to pull on her leash; instead, she focuses on the many smells of the outdoors. Eden knows all the basics of dog training, including sit, stay, lie down, and paw. She’s fully potty-trained and doesn’t seem to require a crate as she readily settles on her doggy bed when left alone. She doesn’t chew furniture, she doesn’t jump on counters, and she doesn’t go looking for trouble. While Eden may love her toys, she should only be given hard chew toys and not soft stuffed toys. This is due to her aforementioned quirk; if given the chance, she’ll tear a stuffy apart and eat whatever’s inside. Proper training may be able to break her of this bad habit, but the simplest solution is to just keep her away from soft toys. Eden has a condition called luxating patella, or in simple terms, a kneecap that can occasionally shift out of place. The good news is that her vet has no concerns about it, and it doesn’t cause her any pain or impact her day-to-day life. You may notice the occasional skip or hop in her step, but she quickly carries on like nothing happened—back to being her perfectly polite, happy self. If you are interested in adopting one of the puppies, please fill out an application at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Eden's adoption fee is $850. Story
Meet Hanni   • Name: Hanni • Age: 2 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Border Collie Mix • Color: Black & White • Weight: 13 kg • Height (shoulder): 45 cm   Rescue Story In February 2025, Hanni and another dog were abandoned at a slaughterhouse by their owner. After the facility shut down, they were transferred to a municipal shelter. Hanni was rescued in March 2025 and has been preparing for her forever home ever since.   ‍‍ Social with People Hanni is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention without hesitation. She enjoys being held, shows her belly once comfortable, and loves physical affection.   She has been gentle with children around 13 years old, though she has not been tested with infants or toddlers.   In unfamiliar environments such as the vet, she may become nervous and resist handling—especially around sensitive areas like her hindquarters. However, in her foster home, she does very well with grooming, baths, nail trims, and daily care routines.   She loves interactive play with people, including tug and fetch, and truly thrives on human companionship.   Social with Other Dogs Hanni is curious and interested in other dogs, often wanting to approach and greet them during walks. She is currently learning to wait and practice better leash manners.   Because she can be a bit forward, she may come across as overly enthusiastic or “rude” to some dogs. She can be pushy with smaller dogs, so supervision is important. With larger dogs, she tends to be more respectful.   Once comfortable in an open environment, she plays well and currently coexists nicely with her foster dog. However, if provoked, she may engage in conflict, so careful introductions to new dogs are recommended.   With Cats Hanni shows curiosity toward cats during walks but follows her handler well when redirected. She may try to chase birds.   Energy Level As a Border Collie mix, Hanni has a higher-than-average energy level. She benefits greatly from regular outdoor exercise and mental stimulation such as training, games, or enrichment activities.   ‍ Walking & Exercise Hanni is currently working on loose-leash walking. She tends to pull, especially when excited or when she sees other dogs. She enjoys running more than slow walks and may vocalize (bark or make sounds) when excited.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Eats well with no picky habits • Crate trained (eats and rests comfortably in crate) • Travels well, including long car rides • Rarely barks, but may bark when playing or seeking attention • Does not bark at visitors   Training Hanni knows: Sit Down Stay Paw Speak House (crate command)   She is smart, eager to engage, and will thrive with continued training and structure.   Ideal Home Hanni would do best with an active adopter who can match her energy and provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She will make a loving, fun, and devoted companion for someone ready to engage with her bright and energetic personality.   Hanni is full of love, energy, and potential—she just needs the right person to share her life with. Story
Arrives in Toronto on April 17.BackgroundThis handsome boy was rescued from a slaughterhouse in the summer of 2022 in Daegu, Korea. After his rescue, he lived in a local shelter for three years but couldn’t find a home in Korea. After hearing his story, we brought him to our boarding house, knowing that a loving family is waiting for him in Canada or the US. His forever home is out there, and he is ready to find it.Personality & BehaviorCamper is a wonderful Border Collie with a sweet and gentle personality. He has medium energy, much calmer than a typical Border Collie, making him well-mannered and easygoing. He is social and friendly, not shy around strangers, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs. Camper is never dominant or aggressive; he is always polite and affectionate. Among people at the shelter, he is one of the sweetest and most popular dogs, loved by volunteers for his friendly and gentle nature.Daily Life & HabitsCamper is well-behaved both indoors and outdoors. He goes potty outside and is easy to care for. He handles bath time and car ride well, and walks nicely on leash, though he sometimes gets excited by new sights during walks. He does not like being caged but has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior. Camper is simply a sweet, well-mannered boy who makes life easy and enjoyable.Health & DietCamper has been on regular parasite prevention since his rescue and has had full veterinary checkups. He is dewormed, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Camper eats kibble twice a day and has shown no food allergies.Ideal HomeCamper is smart, quick to learn, and very sociable. He will thrive in a home that enjoys spending time outdoors. While he does not require excessive exercise like some Border Collies, he enjoys daily walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. He will happily balance activity with relaxation and is a perfect companion for a family who loves to include their dog in their outdoor lifestyle. Whoever adopts Camper will be very lucky to have such a gentle, affectionate, and loyal friend.Camper is available for adoption from link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/camper/

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Haeon      Age: About 5 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Border Collie Color: Black and White Weight: 17kg / 37.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY Someone saw me on the road and couldn’t just walk past. They took me in and gave me a safe place to stay, even if it was only temporary. But they knew I needed more help, so they reached out and that’s how I got my chance. I’m still learning about this new life, but I’m ready to find a place where I truly belong.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a classic Border Collie at heart—full of energy, curiosity, and always ready to move. When I’m outside, I come alive. Running, exploring, and staying busy is my favorite thing, so don’t expect me to sit still for long! Sometimes I get so excited that I can be a bit much for my dog friends, especially the calmer ones—but I’m just having fun and living in the moment. That said, I do know how to switch it off. In my kennel, I’m surprisingly quiet and settled. It’s like I have two modes: zoomies outside, peaceful rest inside. I tend to mirror the energy around me. If I’m with calm dogs, I can relax alongside them. But if someone’s excited, I’ll happily join in the fun. I’m still learning balance, but I’m getting better every day. I may be an active, spirited dog, but with the right guidance and a patient heart, I’ll be an incredibly fun and loyal companion who keeps life anything but boring.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a very affectionate dog—I don’t just love the people I know, I’m also happy to walk right up to new people, lean in for cuddles, and let them pet me right away. However, I’m not a big fan of being picked up, so I’d feel most comfortable if you respect my space and let me stay on all fours. I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, so I may need a gentle and thoughtful introduction. · With Dogs: With smaller dogs, I’m relaxed and friendly, and I usually enjoy their company. I can feel a little unsure around dogs that are bigger than me—they make me a bit nervous sometimes. If another dog comes on too strong or tries to provoke me, I might react, so I’d do best with slow, careful introductions when meeting new dogs. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have high energy level – I’ve got a lot of energy and love to stay on the move—sitting still isn’t really my thing! I’m happiest when I get plenty of outdoor time to run, explore, and burn it all off. Once I’ve had enough activity, though, I can settle down and rest nicely. On walks, I can get a bit eager and pull on the leash, but I do enjoy following my person and staying connected with them.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m gentle with people when it comes to food—I don’t feel the need to guard it. But if another dog comes too close while I’m eating, I might give a little growl to let them know I’d like my space. When there’s something I want, I’m not shy about speaking up—I’ll let you know with a little bark. I settle down nicely in my kennel and stay calm once I’m inside. I’m also used to doing my business outdoors, so I prefer going potty outside.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    HAEON'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2701896##

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Hoah Age: About 1 Year Old (Born in February, 2025) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Border Collie – Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 11kg / 24lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was born in a shelter. My mom arrived there while she was still pregnant with me, and that’s where my story began. Even in a place that wasn’t really meant for growing up, I learned to be gentle, to find comfort, and to stay hopeful. Now, I’m ready to discover something new— a real home, a warm bed, and someone to call my own.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Hoah, a curious little explorer with a playful, goofy heart. I see the world with wide eyes and endless curiosity — everything is interesting, everything is exciting! I’m cheerful, playful, and full of curiosity. I love exploring, moving, and discovering new things — sometimes I get a little distracted because there’s just so much to see! But I’m also people focused. I’m interested in people and want to connect. I just need a little time at first in new places. But once I trust you? I become incredibly gentle, sweet, and easygoing — a total softie. With my curious, slightly scattered personality (some say I’ve got that Collie-style energy), I’ll thrive with someone who can guide me, play with me, and help me focus my energy in a positive way. I’m not just playful — I’m full of potential. If you’re someone who enjoys an active, curious companion and wants to grow together, learn together, and laugh a lot along the way, I think we’d have something really special!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m a sweet and gentle soul who loves being close to people. I might be just a tiny bit shy at first, but give me a treat and a moment, and I’ll warm up to you quickly. Before you know it, I’ll be walking up to you on my own, leaning in and softly rubbing against you like we’ve known each other forever. You can even pet me and scoop me up with your arms under my belly — I’ll stay relaxed, happy just being held close to you. I haven’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, so I may just need a little time and gentle introductions. · With Dogs: When it comes to other dogs, I’m all about friendly vibes. Whether we’ve met before or not,I’ll happily walk up, say hello, and invite them to play. I enjoy making new friends and sharing little moments together, and I naturally approach others with a gentle, open heart. Even if another dog isn’t so friendly,I’d rather avoid trouble and walk away than get into a conflict. I’m not here for drama — just connection, calm energy, and good company. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have high energy level – I really enjoy getting plenty of exercise outside. Once I’ve had enough time to run around and explore, I’m happy to come home and rest calmly by your side. On walks, I can get a little excited and pull sometimes, but I do listen and naturally like to follow my person. I feel most comfortable in quiet, peaceful areas where I can relax and enjoy the moment. Busy roads with lots of cars can be a bit scary for me, so I’d love someone who understands that and helps me feel safe.   TRAINING & HABITS When it comes to food, I’m very relaxed — I don’t guard it from people or other dogs, so mealtime stays easy and stress-free. I’m usually a quiet dog, but when I see someone new, I might give a little bark at first — just my way of saying, “Hey… who’s that?” My kennel can make me feel a bit unsure, so I might whine at first, but with patience and reassurance, I’m learning it’s a safe, cozy space. I prefer doing my business outside, so I’d love a routine with regular walks and fresh air.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    HOAH'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2697714##
