This lovely Border Collie mix arrived at the shelter as a stray, and sadly, no one came forward to claim her. Now, she’s looking for a fresh start with a family who will help her grow into the confident, happy dog she’s meant to be. Piper is a sweetheart at heart, but she can be a little unsure of herself in new situations. She’s still learning about the world, and she’ll need a patient, encouraging family who understands that confidence takes time to build. The good news? This clever girl already knows how to sit, and she’s motivated by food, making treats and positive reinforcement excellent tools for helping her learn! As a Border Collie mix, Piper has brains to spare and plenty of energy to match. She’ll thrive with a family who enjoys teaching new skills, working on training, and finding fun ways to keep both her mind and body busy. Think walks, games, enrichment activities, and learning new tricks! A predictable routine, clear structure, and consistent, reward-based training will help her feel secure while giving her the guidance she needs to succeed. Piper was a little timid when introduced to an overly enthusiastic dog at the shelter, so she may appreciate a calmer canine companion who respects her space and lets friendships develop at her pace. Meet Ahtty!   This affectionate boy is always ready to make a new friend—and hopefully find a family of his own!   Age: 3 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Border Collie mix Colour: Brown & white Weight: 15 kg / 33 lbs Shoulder height: 45 cm / 17.7 inches   Rescue Story Ahtty was rescued from a municipal shelter in May 2026. He currently lives at a rescue dog café in Korea, sharing his days with around 20 other dogs while waiting for his forever home.   With People Ahtty loves meeting people! When visitors arrive, he approaches them first, snuggles into them, and asks for pets. Loud voices may startle him, but he doesn’t typically retreat or run away.   His main caregiver is a man, and he is comfortable with men, although he seems especially drawn to female visitors. He can be picked up and held, and once he gets to know you, he’ll happily show you his belly!   With Other Dogs Ahtty is friendly with dogs of all sizes. He approaches both familiar and new dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   With Cats During a brief cat test, Ahtty showed interest without aggression. His experience with cats is limited, so gradual, supervised introductions would be needed.   Energy & Walks Ahtty has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and settles down to rest afterward. He tends to pull on the leash, but generally follows his handler well and would benefit from continued leash practice.   Other Habits • He has shown no food guarding toward people or other dogs. • He may bark to ask for something he wants. • He stays calm when placed in a kennel. • He currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor spaces for potty breaks. • He may mark in a new environment. Living with around 20 other dogs could be contributing to this behaviour, so he’ll need guidance as he adjusts to a home.   Ahtty has plenty of affection to share. Story
Apollo is a 4-year-old Border Collie with a loving, lively personality. He is house/crate trained and knows basic commands. He is very active and needs daily exercise and mental stimulation; without enough, he can become hyper and reactive, but with his needs met he is calm and well behaved. He has anxiety around unfamiliar people/animals and may snap defensively, so slow introductions and an experienced handler are essential. His reactivity has improved significantly but still needs training. He has a past history of leash-related nipping when highly reactive, though this has not happened for quite a while. He is affectionate with children and has lived with cats. Recently, he had two incidents with a household kitten during play, causing injuries requiring vet visits, including a scratch near the eye. They are currently separated/muzzled together. He also becomes intensely fixated on shadows/movement. He needs an experienced home able to provide structure and stimulation.

Botas was found living on a construction site near Merida. One of the architects who worked there was feeding him along with two other dogs, however their safety was at risk with all of the big machinery operating around them, so the architect brought them to the shelter. Botas is a survivor and a very kind soul. Botas is a very people-oriented dog that is very social and comfortable with human interaction. He readily approaches people, enjoys contact, is easy to touch and handle, and walks very well on leash. Botas is also social with other dogs and has extensive experience living in a group environment. However, compatibility with individual dogs should be considered. If another dog growls at him or initiates a tense interaction, Botas may respond rather than disengage. Botas does not show food aggression toward people. Given his history of living in a group environment where dogs experienced competition around food, structured and separate feeding is recommended during his transition. He is an active dog and will need regular physical activity, walks, enrichment, and appropriate social opportunities. A yard is not necessary, and apartment living could be suitable as long as his activity and needs are consistently met. Botas is a sweet boy that is searching for a calm, stable environment with people that will love him and give him all the attention and affection that he deserves. He loves to be active and explore, but also loves a good nap in the sunshine, a cuddle on the couch and a scratch behind his ears. He is loyal and affectionate with his people and loves attention. He does well with other calm and confident dogs. Medical Notes: Treated for ehrlichia & anaplasmosis. Grade 3 Periodontal disease - scheduled for dental cleaning. Good with men: Yes, he has had positive experience with male caregivers and the male veterinarian Good with women: Yes Good with kids: Yes, older children recommended as his interactions with kids has been limited Good with other dogs: Yes, he is better in smaller groups, calmer environments. Too much chaos overwhelms him. He is great one on one with other dogs. Good with cats: Unknown House trained: Unknown, he has never been in a house before; however in the area that he is currently living in, there is an interior and exterior area and he knows to go to the bathroom outside on the gravel, versus on the tiled area where he sleeps. House training will be required when he is introduced into a home environment. Crate trained: No Energy Level: Medium/High Can be handled/touched: Yes, he did well for his grooming and vet examination and really enjoys attention from people he knows Barker: Occasionally, he joins in when other dogs are barking Flight risk: Yes, after a long and stressful travel day from Mexico and being introduced to an entirely new environment, with new people and nothing being familiar he will be quite nervous and may try to run. Extra precautions should be taken to ensure he cannot escape a home or vehicle while he settles in. QUICK FACTS Name: Yewon Age: Estimated to be born in September 2026 (Around 8 months old) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Border Collie, Jindo mix Color: Black & Brown Weight:  11 kg / 24.2 lbs – Expected to be around 13kg / 28lbs once fully grown Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY My past isn’t fully known, but it appears that I was involved in a terrible car accident when I was only around three months old. I arrived at a crowded city pound severely injured and, although I received some initial treatment, the shelter’s limited resources meant I wasn’t able to receive all the care I needed. I was eventually adopted, but sadly, my new beginning didn’t last. About a week later, I was shaved and abandoned back at the city pound once again. By then, my health was deteriorating, and there was concern that my injuries could permanently affect the use of my back legs. Thankfully, rescuers heard about my situation and stepped in before it was too late. Welcome Dog Korea brought me to safety, and I’m now receiving the medical care, love, and attention I needed all along. After such a difficult start to life, I finally have the chance to heal and look forward to a much brighter future.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues Underwent joint fusion surgery on the left hind leg & part of my right hind leg had to be amputated. I don’t let this stop me from living my life! I run around and have no issues living my life to the fullest   MY PERSONALITY I’m an adorable, friendly girl who loves both people and dogs! Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m still incredibly trusting and haven’t let my past or my hind legs stop me from enjoying life to the fullest. I can be a little more comfortable with women than men at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up and show my sweet, affectionate personality. I also have a great appetite and am very food-motivated, which makes me eager to learn and excited to work for tasty treats!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m friendly with people and enjoy greeting new friends and receiving plenty of pets and affection! I can be a teeny bit shy at first, and as I’m going through my adolescent phase, I may be a little more cautious around men when we first meet. The good news is that I warm up very quickly! Give me some tasty treats and a little time, and within an hour or two, I’ll usually start showing you my sweet and affectionate side. · With Dogs: I’m friendly with my dog friends and love having fun and playing together! I generally get along best with dogs around my size or smaller. Very high-energy dogs can be a little overwhelming for me and I may need some time to feel comfortable around them. Due to my hind legs, I can also get pushed around more easily during rough or energetic play, so calmer and respectful playmates are the best match for me. I’m a peacekeeper at heart and prefer to avoid conflict whenever possible. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. During walks I look at them with curiosity but then lose my interest and continue my way.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well. I’ve had lots of opportunities to practice my walking skills while growing up at the care facility, so I’ve become a great little walking companion! I also have good manners around food and don’t guard my meals or treats from either people or other dogs. I may bark when I’m looking for attention, but I know how to settle down and rest calmly in my kennel. For potty habits, I currently go both indoors using pee pads and outdoors. I also rely quite a bit on my dog friends for emotional comfort and reassurance. Having a calm, gentle dog sibling in my forever home could help me feel more secure and confident as I adjust to my new life.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • I’m looking for a family who understands my hind legs condition and is willing to provide the care and support I may need.
