MEET RUEGER – An active dog looking for adventure! Are you looking for a dog with a fun, playful personality and a little bit of quirky charm. Rueger’s the kind of dog that will make you smile.  He’s affectionate in his own way and absolutely loves a good belly rub—he’ll happily position himself right over your feet to make sure you don’t forget.Rueger is a three-year-old (April 3, 2023), black and white Border Collie, weighing 60 lbs.  He knows basic commands like sit and down, has some experience on a leash, and is eager to please. He is housebroken.  He’s an active dog who enjoys playtime and would thrive in a home where he can burn off energy and be engaged. Rueger is looking for someone who will make him the center of their world. He has so much personality and loyalty to give, and he will do best with someone committed to continuing his training and giving him structure.RUEGER DOES WELL WITH:·         Other dogs – He has been around other herding dogs and enjoys playing.·         Kids – He has been around kids from 6 years old to teens and has done well with all.·         Adults – He will alert bark but then is very friendly when people come in.  He has never shown aggression to humans.RUEGER IS UNKNOWN WITH:·         Cats – There are barn cats at his current home, but he has not been given access to them.  Given his issues with livestock, we would have concern about cats.RUEGER DOES NOT DO WELL WITH:·         Livestock – IMPORTANT – Rueger and his littermate are known to have killed three lambs, on separate occasions.  We will not place Rueger in any home with livestock.THE REST OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILSRueger is neutered, and up to date on his vaccinations.  He will be microchipped before adoption.  Rueger is currently in Prineville, Oregon. Story
Meet Vader! Vader is a calm Border Collie/Heeler mix with a fluffy black coat and soulful eyes. He is house trained and demonstrates great behavior indoors and out. His gentle demeanor makes him the perfect companion. While he initially hated his crate, he now happily curls up in his crate at night on his own or sprawls out in front of the couch while his foster family watches TV. He loves to go on casual walks, energetic jogs and even hikes- no pulling the leash! He copies your mood and just enjoys being with company. He truly is a sweetie! He has this quirk where when he’s really happy, his tail doesn’t wag, it goes in circles like a helicopter! He knows sit, down, up, speak, and fetch. Vader has shown significant reactivity towards male dogs and smaller dogs. His ideal home will be as an only dog or with a larger female canine companion. He can be slow to trust new people. His foster family has been working with him on these issues. He has been known to chase cars if unsupervised. Vader has no experience with livestock or farm animals but will chase cats, so a cat-free home is needed. Breed: Border Collie/Heeler mix Age: 3 years old Weight: 55 lb Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Dog friendly: Larger female dogs only Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Has lived with 12-year-old and one year old children successfully Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Vader is currently being fostered in Vancouver, WA. We have volunteers who can help with transportation. His adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Vader and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com.
