Story
Avett is a 3 year old, male, Border Collie/Heeler mix surrendered to rescue when owner was "unable to support his needs". Owner reportsthey bought Avett as a puppy & he was free to roam in the home with children and other animals with no issues except for "jumping" sometimes. He has been friendly and cooperative with all the volunteers at the rescue. He loves running and playing in the big fenced yard and is working on his leash skills. He participates is several different play groups at the rescue & has done well with the other dogs. Avett is a bit over weight so we are providing a healthy diet and regular exercise to improve his quality of life which we hope will continue with his new family. I adopted Kai at a difficult time in my life where I needed a companion and he was perfect for that. He helped me through difficult times and I will forever be grateful for him. Unfortunately, I am moving to better opportunities and Im not allowed pets, he is my best friend and I am looking for a good home with people who can exercise with him daily. He is very smart and can learn new tricks in a few minutes to a few hours. He is very energetic, and I’m looking for someone who is willing to work with him on his new people greetings as he is a bit too friendly.
