Meet Fern: Fern is about a 2 year old (as of January 2026) border collie mix (best guess) that weighs around 47 pounds. Fern was brought into a shelter in Arkansas with her 6 puppies (unfortunately only 2 puppies survived). Our rescue heard about Fern and her 3 week old pups and were able to find a foster home to get them into a lower stress environment. Fern and her pups are currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and would love to meet their forever families. Fern is very friendly and sweet. We are still assessing Fern’s house training status. We would love for Fern to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can run and play freely. Fern is getting up to date on her shots and is spayed. Jethro is a 1 year old 54 lb. neutered male Border Collie mix! Very sweet somewhat submissive dog that came from a hoarder/Breeder home and Dog warden took all dogs to shelter in SC. We were asked to save Jethro and his mom! And we had to! They are both now fixed and fully vaccinated and microchipped! He is a sweet dog! We have to cat test him soon to see how he does with cats! HERO, Is a rescue dog we took from a man who had him in a 8x8 room with 3 other 6 month old dogs. We found homes for the other 2. Hero we have not found a home for yet. He is very loving, playful, loves toys, kids, other dogs, and has a lot of energy. Thats because of his breed. Border collie are breed for herding. They require running room or a lot of play time. The best way if not using them to herd is to get a ball and let them push it around like they are herding it. It's great teaching them to put their toys away. Hero is very smart just like all border collies. He will bring his toys back to you when you show them, he sits when told loves affection and will sleep on the floor next to your bed. The only problem is when he's in heat you cant let him off the leash because he will go looking for a female. Otherwise he stays in the yard with you. He needs to be fixed to solve that problem. Thats his only issue. Hes a great dog that was abused. He's now 1 and 1/2 yrs old.

He already knows sit, down, and paw, and he picks up new things with the kind of speed that will genuinely impress you.
