Story
I received my Pet from Lifeline Animal Project. At first glance he was super sweet, didn’t bark, or show any signs of aggression or sadness. He was as bubbly as can be. He gets along well with kids, others dogs, & anyone in between. He is house trained, loves to play, be pet, & go on walks. All I’m looking for in a new home is for him to go to a loving family. I have 2 bowls, a leash, a dog bed, multiple toys, & multiple cans of dog food all for free to whoever is interested as soon as possible. Can’t wait to see where Bruce lands.

Story
LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 17 lbs. Hi there, I’m Morty! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my forever family to come and adopt me. I was adopted for about a week, but I had a bit too much playful energy for the older dog in the home, so, I’m back with Mostly Mutts in a wonderful foster home while I wait to find my new family. ·   OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along with and love to play a lot with the 2 female dogs in my foster home, and I enjoy meeting other female dogs on my walks in the neighborhood. I don’t seem to care for the male dogs I’ve met, so if you have a playful female dog already, let’s meet. / I get along with the kitty in my foster home, occasionally rubbing noses when we see each other! All cats are different, so I'm not sure how I would do with another kitty. / I enjoy the gentle special needs older daughter who has a smaller stature and will frequently cuddle up next to her.  I haven’t met young kids, so let’s say 10+ could be a good fit and of course let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me. Kids should be old enough to use caution around doors as I’m a bit of a flight risk currently. ·   PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, affectionate, friendly, and playful little cutie-pie who’s also on the quiet and timid side. Once I feel safe, I’m a whole lot of fun and love sharing my playful personality. I have a strong prey drive outdoors and will be on the lookout for moving critters, so I’ll enthusiastically give chase if I get the chance—and I can be a digger, too! Because I can be a flight risk, I stay on a long leash even in a fenced yard for added safety for now. I don’t think I’ll have to do this once I completely trust everyone and am settled in my new home. I’m not as trusting around men, though I’ve made progress with my foster dad as he’s quite the dog whisperer—but still on my terms. I now accept treats and meals from him, occasionally give him kisses, and even sleep beside him at night. I’m still not comfortable having him leash or walk me, so if there’s a man in my forever home, I’ll need him to earn my trust with patience, kindness, and gentle encouragement—no rushing, please. With time and understanding, my loving personality continues to shine. / Energy level: I’m in the 4-6 level energy range once I’m comfortable in my environment—though I have more energy when I’m excited such as 5-7. ·   SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I know the ‘sit’ command and walk well on my leash for my foster mom. I also understand what ‘no’ means and I seem to know my name and will come when my foster mom calls me. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s do some training together. /I’m not crated in foster home, though I did well in a crate in my temporary home. / My potty manners have been successful on my foster's schedule. I initially marked in the house over the first few days, but this behavior has resolved. My potty manners were also reported to be good in my temp. home.   ·   LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with my foster dog sisters and running around the backyard with them and going for neighborhood walks. Chasing squeaky toys, chewing on Benebones, and soaking up belly rubs are some of my favorite things, and I especially enjoy cuddling with my foster mom and spending time with her. I also love to chew on wood and anything else I happen to find on the floor, so keeping tempting items picked up will help me make good choices! / I’m still very fearful of most men and may try to run away if I feel frightened, so I’ll need careful management and a patient, understanding family. I also don’t respond well to harsh corrections, they make me cower or even have an accident—so I do best with gentle, positive guidance. And like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. ·   MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I came in needing cherry eye surgery in both eyes and thankfully Mostly Mutts had had that done for me. I occasionally take Benadryl for little allergies as needed which is helpful—just ask about this. I’m looking for a patient, gentle and loving family that will show me I’m safe and loved! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 18, 2026, 7:02 am
