Story
Meet King Kong! This Cairn Terrier mix may be smaller in size, but don’t let that fool you—he’s got energy, charm, and a playful spirit that could rival dogs twice his size. His heart says he's a wookiee, but his body says dog! King Kong lives for playtime, whether it’s chasing toys, romping around the yard, or making goofy zoomies that are sure to bring a smile to your face. This little guy is especially interested in making dog friends. He’s on the lookout for a playful buddy who can match his happy energy, but who also knows how to take a breather and enjoy the finer things—like a good sniff session or a nap in the sun. King Kong loves to explore the world with his nose and appreciates a good balance between action and relaxation. However, while he is a fan of his doggy friends, he is not required to have them and would be fine in a home with just adult buddies to play! King Kong isn’t a fan of loud noises, fast movements, or the unpredictability that often comes with children, though. Because of this, he’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe, understood, and totally himself. King Kong is still waiting for his neuter surgery, but he’s otherwise healthy and full of zest. He's just waiting for the right people—his people—who will embrace his spunky little soul and give him the loving, structured home he deserves. King Kong is here, tail wagging and heart open, just waiting to find his perfect match!

Fun Facts:

Hill foxes could easily destroy farm stock, so farmers and shepherds needed a powerful dog with legs long enough to follow a horse but short enough to follow foxes underground. The Border Terrier was their scrappy answer to their fox predator woes.

The Border Terrier is the only terrier that has a loose and moveable hide, or skin, which was to protect the dogs during foxhunting and allow him to wiggle in and out of tight tunnels.

The Border Terrier is often regarded as one of the oldest breeds of terrier in Britain.
